"Hey, I'm Larry and I'll be your attendant today, can I please take your name and registration number please?" The acne-riddled teenager spoke clearly in an all-too rehearsed tone. It was incredibly likely that he had been taking names and registration numbers for the better part of the day.
"My name is Lucifer. My registration number, I believe is eight-zero-two-seven-four-six."
"Thank you very much sir, I'm afraid before I allow you to enter I have to ask that you provide some form of demonstration with regards to your fighting abi-"
"Thank you very much." Lucifer said courteously to the hole in the wall named Larry as he punched the rest of his details into the computer Larry had been operating. He then signalled to another nearby attendant.
"Hey, I'm Joe and I'll be your attendant today, can I please take your name and registration number please?"
"Larry had to go. Family emergency, apparently. He told me to get someone else to authorize my application.
"That's fine sir. Here, please take a copy of the rules and regulations, I'll just be a moment."
Lucifer scanned through the thick brochure rather too quickly. The rules seemed straightforward enough. Follow some idiot's commands and kill as many things as possible. Hardly fitting for a brain such as his, but he would make do. If anything he could use the exposure.
"If you'd like to step this way sir, we'll be transporting you to Dante shortly."
The new attendant led Lucifer down a narrow corridor behind the main sign-up desk. Another attendant quickly rushed to take his place as the queues grew increasingly restless. As Lucifer and the attendant reached the end of the corridor, Joe pulled the door open anxiously and signalled Lucifer to go inside. Inside the room was a single teleportation tube. Lucifer didn't need a written invitation and stepped into the tube immediately. He felt the familiar sucking feeling as he was whirled through space and time untill he finally came to a rest a moment later.
Lucifer was in a large stone room. There was a large ornate table in the centre of the room with a large map placed on it. There were various computers and communication devices in the room and a three-dimensional hologram of the map on the table. Lucifer was almost phased.
"Interesting."
