[PS] Outcasts Barracks
#10
Seventeen sighed as he returned to his throne and stared out at the bunker. Super Buu, Kid Buu, and ?Mr. Cell Junior? were milling around for seemingly no reason other then the sake of burning excess calories, but at least it seemed like the animosity between the two golems would not become a hassle during the contest. Pulling out the drawer in his desk, the android pulled out the majority of the mapping devices and was startled to see a sparkling handgun that had been waiting for him beneath the tools and papers.

Picking up the polished, ebony gun, Seventeen ejected the clip and smiled when he saw that the weapon was indeed loaded. After a few more inspections, the cyborg identified the firearm as a Desert Eagle?an immensely powerful .50 caliber, semi-automatic handgun. Despite the fact that his natural ki was leagues beyond any firearm, the machine-hybrid was nevertheless enamored by the sleek, powerful look of the gun.

After turning the handgun?s safety on, Seventeen slid it into the inner pocket of his trench coat and spun his chair around to face his troops. A few more soldiers had been teleported into the bunker?including a changeling, his apparent associate, and a black-haired man standing near the far wall of the room. Sighing inwardly, the machine-hybrid walked back over to his throne and sat near the edge of the unnecessarily extravagant chair.

His eyes were glued on the middle of the bunker?s central row as he waited for the next batch of recruits to be beamed into the chamber. A cylinder of light suddenly surged to life, and a moment later, a small group of creatures filed out from the beam of energy and marched toward the front of the bunker. Seventeen smiled at the recruits and took a moment to shake all of their hands and exchange pleasantries before dismissing them.

As the new soldiers broke apart from their line, the android became aware of the person still standing at the epicenter of the point of arrival. Although she was garbed in uncharacteristic, revealing military fatigues, Seventeen still knew Paige when he saw her. The former whitelighter smiled faintly as she waved one of her nimble hands toward the cyborg.

Without another moment of hesitation, the green-skinned woman dashed forward and embraced the seated android. Seventeen smiled as he wrapped his arms around Paige?s thin waist and pulled her closer to him. Placing the woman on his lap, the machine-hybrid took a moment to glance over her outfit: combat boots, camouflaged shorts, and a camouflaged shirt cut in a way to scantily display the woman?s thin abdomen.

?That outfit isn?t regulation,? Seventeen snickered, his comment eliciting a laugh from the woman. ?But I guess I should view this as an interesting turn of events, but why did you decide to signup? You were so adamant against me going off to compete in the last Dante?s Abyss,? Paige giggled slightly and shrugged her shoulders innocently.

?We both know what happened in that contest,? she stated, her voice losing some of its pep as her statement reached its terminus. After pausing a moment to draw fresh breath into her lungs, Paige continued, her tone conveying the same variation of moroseness. ?At least if I am here, then I can protect you from the lunatics and sycophants that encompass the majority of people that sign up for these inane events,? the jade-skinned woman let out a sigh and frowned slightly. Before she could speak, Seventeen leaned forward and pressed his lips against hers?effectively silencing her and derailing her train of thought.

?You just better not go off and die on me,? Seventeen said, his tone devoid of the sarcasm one might normally expect the android to utilize when speaking. ?Game or not, I can?t stand to watch you die a second time,? the plea elicited a silent nod from the woman, who still seemed flabbergasted from the impromptu kiss just a few moment?s earlier.

?I brought your armor,? she finally uttered, producing a capsule from one of the pockets on her jacket. Depressing the tab, the android?s girlfriend let the diminutive storage container slid from her fingers and crack open on the concrete below. After assisting Paige off his lap and to a standing location, Seventeen collected the saiya-jin breastplate from the floor. The former whitelighter stepped forward to help the cybernetic warrior remove his sword and trench coat, and then he slid the armor over his chest.

Once he had put back the rest of his garments, the cyborg thanked the woman with a kiss and playfully dismissed her. Paige reacted by mischievously sticking her tongue out at her boyfriend and sauntering off his slightly elevated platform. With a contented sigh, Seventeen parked himself on his throne once again and waited for more of his army to arrive.
