The dark sky. The shinning moon. The silver walls. And the immense quiet. Such a scene would have seemed perfect for a romantic event or any other happening which fills a person with light and hope. But on this specific space body, it symbolised nothing more but a lull....a lull before the storm.

Jackie sat quietly on a short, light-wooded bench by himself. He wasn`t training, he wasn`t interacting. He wasn`t even meditating which was his usual practice when he had time for himself. No, he was just....thinking.

The mysterious universe known as the mind wrapped around the tournament which was about to unfold. Thousands upon thousands of fighters have gathered for this event. Some were in it for the challenge, some were in it for the glory...but most importantly, all had a good reason to join in the imaginary but realistic struggle.

But their motives had little bearing on the greater view of things. It was ironic how the game makers tried to potray it as some kind of a sport...a fair competition beetween several opponents. The truth was of a much darker nature.

The truth was that the whole point of this enormous fight was to project gore and violence to the people watching. Like the Roman masses of the old, they hungrily seaked for games...and not just any games. Cruel and bloody games.
So overall, the entire reason for the existance of the tournament was to give the viewers what they wanted...and make a profit out of it.

Seeing these thoughts, one would think Chun was a hypocrite for joining. However, there was also a bright side to such events...and that was that the best of the best assembled there. And what was better for and old and experienced martial artist? Afterall, honor can be found even in darkest of places...

With this unusual conflict of ideals within him, the Turtle Hermit sighingly got onto his feet. The hour of challenge would soon come and his orders were due to arrive soon.
