?So it begins,? said Cell Junior as he stood outside of Sanguine Castle and looked over his men who were bunched together in no particular order as they looked back at their Commander.
CJ shook his head in disappointment at the company?s marching structure. It was something he would have to work on with them, after all, these people just signed up the same time as Cell Jr. so it?d be a bit much to expect them to know how to march properly at this point in the tournament.
Cell Junior turned his back away from the company as he looked forward at the direction he was intended to go to by Seventeen. Up ahead he saw a few squads already moving, particularly Corey?s Squad who he intended to go ahead of him to save the trouble of our troops mixing and wasting a day trying to sort it out.
?Let us march!? roared CJ who was raising his fist in the air. The company bellowed out a large war cry as Junior dropped his fist and started marching. Following directly behind him were his two elite soldiers, Jackie Chun and Toma, who he met when he introduced himself to his company this morning. CJ knew that these two were obviously stronger than him, figuring that they both must know that as well, he can only hope buy trust them and trust his own decisions in the midst of a battle.
Behind Jackie Chun and Toma followed an unorganized company of misfits who begun a marching chant which followed the rhythm of their feet work.
~*~*~*~
Time passes along with the miles racked up from marching, but CJ is surprised at his company?s morale, they?re showing some fatigue as expected, even CJ himself feels a bit exhausted, but the company is still chanting that marching tune and it?s still going strong.
In the distance, Cell Junior notices a messenger heading directly towards him, ?Must be from Corey?s Squad,? he mumbled. ?Company, continue forward march!? bellowed out the winged commander as he made his way to the back of the unit with Jackie Chun and Toma following right behind him.
Minutes later, the messenger meets up with General Cell Junior. ?General CJ, I have a message from General Corey.?
?Let me hear it,? requested CJ.
?He has started setting up a camp site for the night and wants you to know you can go wherever you please now without worries of the squads mixing,? the soldier said.
?Very well, then we shall continue our trek forward until we reach our destination. It shouldn?t be too much farther then if Corey has set up camp, it?s within the same area as him,? noted Cell Jr.
?You?re dismissed soldier,? stated CJ as the messenger scurried off making haste back towards Corey.
~*~*~*~
The winged general looked to his right and squinted as he could make out a gathering of people down there who were up to something. He wasn?t 100% sure if it was Corey?s Squad or not, but he trusted his instincts and assumed it was as it would be very unlikely an invading army would haven gotten this far already.
CJ raised his hand in the air as if he was in a classroom and had to ask a question, ?Company,? he called out as he ordered them to stop, ?We set up camp here.?
As the commotion of camp building picked up, General Junior looked towards the horizon where the sun pierced the sky with an orange tint, placing his hand up towards the sun he estimated he had about an hour before darkness succumbed the land and it?s inhabitants.
Joining in with his battalion, Cell Jr. started setting up his own tent, the tent being the exact same as the other soldier?s tents. Cell Junior didn?t like the idea of being totally different from his soldiers, he was their General and his squad knew that, but CJ wanted them to also understand that he is merely here to help them maneuver in the battlefield and do logistics. Other than that, he himself is just an ordinary soldier like them.
In the midst of getting his tent ready, CJ was interrupted by a messenger. ?General CJ, I have a message from General Corey.?
?What is it?? replied the winged creature as he stood up and turned to the messenger.
?Corey wanted me to let you know that there is a village to the East and that you should be on your guard as we haven?t made contact with that village yet,? stated the messenger.
?Thank you soldier, you?re dismissed,? ordered CJ as he went back to building his tent. He knew he didn?t have to worry about it as General Supes will be heading that way and it?ll be up to him to make contact and report their purpose.
Night fell over the camp as the battalion were all mingling amongst one another, some with camp fires going, others singing and dancing. For the first time since he can remember, Cell Junior finally feels like he belongs here, with these fellow misfits.
