Trudging alongside the other soldiers in his team, Spopovich couldn?t imagine a more boring way to spend his day. Considering the giant?s formidable imagination, that was saying quite a lot. Still, his Papa always told him to do what grown-ups asked of him, so he kept marching along like a good boy should.
?So,? he asked of a nearby soldier, ?What do you do for fun around here??
His only answer was an incredulous stare and a soft chuckle, after which the man went back to ignoring his hulking companion. It had been like that the whole trip; everyone was so boring! It figured that the denizens of the magic bathroom would be just as dull as the latrine itself. Once again, Spopo found himself thinking back to what brought him here.
Despite the few interesting happenings when he had first arrived, the behemoth had quickly become bored of the main room and its inhabitants. Just when he thought he couldn?t take it anymore, however, a voice boomed out over some hidden loudspeaker.
?Contestant Spopovich, please step onto the teleportation pad for transport to the Syntech Barracks.?
Confused, Spopo stood motionless for a good ten minutes before the message was repeated. Even then, he had to go ask the bartender for clarification.
?Uh? Mister? What?s a contestant??
Staring blankly at the man who had so rudely pissed all over his floor, the drinkmonger felt a surging desire to give him a piece of his mind. But, he figured, the sooner the childish buffoon was gone the sooner he was someone else?s problem.
?Spopovich, right?? he asked and received a nod in return. ?Well, a contestant is what you are, my oafish friend. And that means you?re gonna play a game.?
Eyes as big as saucers, the giant warrior could hardly believe his ears. It was about time something fun happened in this dull place. ?Wow! What kinda game is it, Mister??
Though it seemed weird that someone who had signed up for this gig had no idea what it was about, the barkeep let it slide. ?You?ll find out soon enough, guy. Just go over to where you came in and get going before they start without you.?
Giddy with anticipation, Spo charged the metallic pad with a face full of glee. The few people in his way made a point of diving for cover lest they be squashed under the mentally-challenged man?s bulk. As soon as his foot came in contact with the teleporter, the funny feeling came over him again and Spopo found himself in an entirely different room. All around, men were training, sparring, or doing the various other stuff that warriors did before a battle. It looked like a lot of fun, but before he could join them a voice boomed out from the other end of the room.
?It?s about time you showed up,? a green man seated on a throne said. ?I hope tardiness isn?t a habit for you.?
Before the behemoth could work up an answer, or even ask what ?tardiness? meant, the kingly guy made a dismissing gesture and returned to his paperwork. Even as stupid as he was, Spopovich knew what that meant and he looked back to the men he had seen earlier. This time, he noticed that they didn?t seem to be having any fun at all. They all had a sort of dejected look on their faces, like what they were doing was boring.
Picking up on that feeling, Spo went to go play alone.
That was what happened, and now Spo was stuck playing a boring game. In his mind, the little man who had sent him into the bathroom was being eaten by little rabbit and the big man laughed loudly. Several glares later, he resigned himself to simply playing with a mouse he?d found. It didn?t move anymore, but it was soft. And Spopovich like soft things.
(OOC: I typed this up last night before the two teams merged. I really don't have time to add anything new to it yet, so let's just say it occured before the merger. ^_^)
