A new day, and more building was the only thing Nappa had in his mind as he walked outside to see his men?s progress. He was told that they had laid down the foundations to the main building, and were already putting up walls. The saiya-jin was definitely happy to see things moving forwards, but he knew they needed to be at a quicker pace if they were to meet back up with Garlic on time.
During the night, Jonga?s unit reached his position, which would help quicken the pace. Jonga had told him that his unit had already created a fort many miles to the south, and would be happy to assist in raising this one. He now had almost triple the amount of units working on the fort, and it would only be a matter of time before it was finished.
?Alright boys, take a break I?ve got something to announce. If you all can complete the main building and two outer walls by dusk then I will let you have my stash of assorted liquors and domestic beer. So I suggest you get moving if you want to party up tonight,? Nappa announced, his voice booming over the crowd of soldiers resting their bodies.
The crowd pumped their fists, and jump back to work, determined to finish by dusk. Nappa knew that they would be able to finish his request by then, and the alcohol would be a moral booster. He needed his units to know he wasn?t a slave driver, and they would be rewarded for their hard work.
?What have you got to say to that Jonga?? Nappa asked the general.
?Not a bad way to improve the work effort, they will definitely have your things built by dusk I am sure,? Jonga replied with a smile, as the two turned back into the tent.
Jonga, Nappa, and his lieutenant Edmond sat around the desk looking at his newest map. They discussed possible moves once this fort was built, and what would be the best tactic to use in certain situations for hours. Jonga had explained to Nappa that he had a rather powerful reddish skinned warrior in his unit, and seemed rather proud of him.
Nappa noted this ?red skinned warrior? and was certain who it was. The three ranked officers talked and guzzled down almost a whole quarter keg by the time one of Nappa?s scouts waltzed in with the largest smile on his face.
?We?ve completed your request General Nappa?. Three hours early!? the scout implied, with his knees almost buckling in excitement.
?Well tell everyone to get on some civilian cloths, and prepare to drink. Oh and scout, that is an order!? Nappa laughed, burping slightly in between sentences.
About thirty minutes later and the party stared. Two full units guzzled down keg after keg, and after each one they?d have a shooting contest. Setting up the kegs in a line, painting bulls-eyes on each one, and having a tourney. The challenge was to down ten cups of beer, and blast each bulls-eye moves on. Winners included Nappa, Edmond, Jeice, and two sniper soldiers. They continued on to the next challenge, which was another ten beers, and the keg toss. Each contestant would toss up a keg, and use his pistol to hit the flying bull?s eye.
After downing his last beer, the saiya-jin was completely plastered, but he lifted the empty keg above his head, and gave it a heave into the night sky. Quickly the saiya-jin drunk removed his pistol from his holster, and lifted it towards the flying keg. Everyone was cheering and laughing as Nappa pulled the trigger, but nothing happened.
?Fuck, the safety!? Nappa yelled, fumbling the gun around looking for the safety button. The keg was already falling towards the ground, when the saiya-jin clicked the button, but it was the clip button and his clip fell to the ground.
?Son of a bitch,? Nappa burped, ?If I wasn?t so damn drunk?. I?d win.?
All the soldiers began cheering and clapping at the ugly failure of their drunken commander. It was a great party, and all the soldiers were wasted, but tomorrow they would be back to work.
