The walk from the Temple of the Moon had not been nearly as arduous as one might assume. Reijin had for the most part enjoyed the Temple, although he allowed noone to see the training that he did there, and had even tried to meditate for a few hours there before finally realizing that night had fallen.
He'd finally stretched his limbs, glancing over to the sleeping Saibaman at his side before taking a breath and rising to full height. Looking over the creature for a moment, he noticed its shallow breaths emitting a strand of drool, flickering out only to retreat on the next inhale. Reijin reached down to help the creature get up from sleeping... It awoke in midair, having felt the wind pressure on it just before striking the ground.
Reijin was storming off in the distance, exiting the Temple. He motioned for a soldier to approach him and gave him his orders. "Commander Vejita said that we were to leave by nightfall. Why have we not left yet?"
The soldier, puzzled, fumbled quickly for his words. "Well, sir, the Commander is still in his tent and resting at the moment. To awake him would certainly be suicide," he added.
Leaning in, Reijin's voice seemed to shimmer the air around him in venom. "We are leaving now," he hissed.
A quick nod was the only response that he recieved before he turned to look around at his army. They were quickly assembling, and he looked up towards the night sky, hoping that the group could complete their journey before the detection of light had fallen upon them.
Gazing around, he saw one girl was still playing around the Temple itself, seeming to enjoy the aura that surrounded it. He calmly walked over, stopping a short distance from her as a feeling of recognition passed over him. That's the girl I fought from the Syntech group... A mere child? he mused. He finally shrugged, having seen stranger displays, before walking forward to her. He had originally considered simply cleansing the child from the planet in order to keep children out of their battles, at least those that were children at heart, but he'd seen her fight.
She jumped in surprise when Reijin's gloved hand closed around the back of her shirt, lifting her into the air easily and spinning her around to face him. Without a word, he simply gave her a stern look, only to find her throwing a tantrum in response.
?Let me down you big bully! Get your hands off of me! I will scream so loud your ear drums will pop! I will cry so much you will drow-..? she began, suddenly finding herself cut off as the warrior pressed a finger to her lips to silence her. If she wished to fight amongst the group, then she'd have to accept being treated like any other fighter here.
He gave her another glance, not really comprehending how such a life loving child could fight with such ferocity, but finally spoke to her in a serious tone. ?Keep up the pace, soldier, or find yourself falling far behind.? Not another word was spoken as he lowered her back to the ground and then turned to bark an order for the group to begin their march, the King having taken an alternate path to their destination.
He had only marched a few miles when he began to suddenly hear random crunching from behind him of someone treading through the soft snow. Thinking of the snow, he unconciously pulled his cloak around himself while he tuned his ears to the sound. "That child is trying to shadow me," he mumbled under his breath, somewhat amused. He didn't even need to sense her ki to know it, and hearing her satisfied grunts, she obviously believed she had gone unnoticed. He ignored it, knowing that a short distance behind, Saiba was stalking her as well.
A short distance later, he heard a girlish grunt as she leapt into a tree, the tree's branch even shaking a few dozen leaves onto him. His muscles tensed up a moment in irritation, but upon hearing her happy breath of completeness, he just let it go. With the growling of her stomach, she wouldn't be sneaking up on anyone anytime soon.
He suddenly heard another set of footsteps over the marching, rushing towards them. He turned and glanced over his shoulder to see another young boy running towards him, only to have the girl suddenly leap from the tree and crash into him, the two rolling off into the snow to dissappear beneath it. A small sweatdrop appeared on his brow until he finally shrugged, decided that Akane had saved the boy from a flaming end and turning to continue on his trek.
The two continued their games the entire walk to the tower, until they finally came to rest once more at the landmark known as Aztec Tower, where it had originally began. The girl came up behind him and took a deep breath before glancing at him. "Are we going to be fighting here again?" she questioned him innocently and yet with a passion and hopeful glint.
He simply nodded before glancing out towards the tower, searching for his alliance partner, Vejita, former Prince and current King. "Yes, this is where you can prove your allegience to us..." His voice trailed off as he found the figure in the distance among the crowd, his extremely short nature using his tall hair as compensation, hoping to add stature to his figure. "It is where we will all prove where our allegience lies," he whispered, loudly enough that the girl probably heard.
He took a few steps foward and saw that the other army had taken notice of them. His eyes hardened, knowing what was to come as he allowed his cloak to loosely fall back behind his shoulderblades. His gloved hands twitched a moment and a trademark smirk spread along the side of his cheeks, meeting his ears with a gleeful presence. "Vejita... where will you stand? With your brethen, with the Saiyans... Or will you turn your back on your own kind? On your own Alliance... On your brothers... On XTC?" He had a strange feeling that he knew the answer to the question. Vejita had been avoiding the group lately, and had been behaving strangely during the tournament, judging from the messages Reijin had read on Vejita I's behalf. If they came to blows, Reijin would personally handle his only equal and 'friend'. He hoped the deluded King of Saiyankind would see the light that was the darkness.
