Eh ...? When did I ever say I viewed staff as an enemy? I think there are some awesome members on the staff team, but I also think a few are being rather pigheaded about this whole thing.

To be blunt, the customs. It's clear that some people don't want a compromise - they would rather have the entire RPG be customs, and it's 'a privilege' to even be able to keep old characters. Indeed, this whole change is centered around customs (see the new system for 'being able to gain stuff now', about it being an innate trait of 'your new character'). Canons are just an afterthought in this system, a response to public demand.

We are already taking massive hits because of this. Don't pretend that because we get to keep our history, it's not going to affect us. No, stats and techniques, too, are integrated into character history. I'm already willing to take most of this. But it seems like you guys are unwilling to compromise - if the people that don't want to switch characters get to keep anything, we're 'lucky'.

I will say that this has changed my opinion of you, Reijin. I don't mind when people start attacking my points of view, but when you try to undermine me by painting me as a horrible, selfish person, as you did in the post above, then I will get pissed.

I'm more than willing to compromise, and I've already been massively compromised already. Gaining stats now is not a requirement for me - it's just a nice incentive to keep RPing. It's a good idea, but it's not a substitute for what we were told we'd probably be able to do - keep some/all old techniques (or carry them over to our NEW custom).

I know that, as is the Chubbs way, anyone that leaves Chubbs will be branded a 'coward' and someone who gives up, but I've argued by best throughout this thread. Shit, two days ago I sent you and Rad two word files full of ideas, some of which you wanted to use for your own RPG. Why the hell would I be against staff, or Chubbs?

But if you flat-out say "no, this is what we're doing", then I don't have much choice. I slept on this, but in the morning I was no less pissed. I don't want to be treated as a second-class citizen because I don't want to start over with a custom. I like my character, and if need be, I can continue him elsewhere. I'm going to wait to see what comes out of the staff forum, and that will determine whether I stay or go.
