Everything 16 said deeply affected the saiyan warrior. He knew what had to be done and he was ready to do it. Monte Cristo had been billed as United?s safe haven but it would soon become the final resting ground for the souls of thousands of good men. Men that put their life on the line to fight for United and they would not be denied. Para would let this war end only one way and that would be a United victory. 16 orders were received and he was ready to carry them out to the fullest extent of his ability.
Tension filled the smoke clouded atmosphere of the war zone known as Monte Cristo. Sweat poured down the face of the saiyan warrior. The time was now all that had happened before would all lead up to this moment. This was the end, the climax. The showdown that would finally put an end to this long, exhausting journey that was Dante?s Abyss. A sea of saluting soldiers stood before the proud General and he knew that most of them would not make it, but they would not go down without putting up one hell of a fight.
Para adjusted his saiyan armor and slid down his white glove. He cleared his throat and prepared the army for their leave. He took one glance at his path to the walls of the fort gave his troops the signal to begin the long march. The smell of smoke littered the air and Para took in a deep breath. He had gotten used to it now, the air was never clean in times of war.
The march had begun. The troops followed close behind their General trekking across the debris filled ground. Para heard a sound he had never heard before. A sound that since the day he had arrived in the war zone had eluded him. Silence. Only the heavy gasps of men taking deep breaths for it could be their last. Only the sounds of guns and weaponry clacking together as the men pounded their black boots to the surface of the planet. Para liked this sound, it was a sweet symphony of war and it soothed his every nerve.
The march seemed like it had taken days, but it had only been a couple of minutes. The open gates of the outer walls were in clear view now. They were opened for the troops arrival. There was no turning back now, it was time. Soldiers immediately sprinted to their positions and immediately got ready. Even though Para was standing just outside the walls of the fortress, he felt like he was miles away from Cristo.
There was never a time in this entire war where Para feared for his life. Never a time until now. Soldiers were kneeling over and throwing up all their fears. The nerves were setting in. All the thoughts of what could happen to them finally set into their minds. The saiyan too felt weak but he wasn?t gonna show them that. He had to stay strong, stay strong for all the men that couldn?t stay strong on their own.
Para stood tall at the center of all the panic and cleared his throat. ?Everyone listen to me.? Para yelled to all the men causing a mass halt of activity.
?This is the time that has been built up for weeks. This is where it ends. It ends here and now with the destruction of Dante. Cristo is too big to fall, to strong to fall. Just like each and every one of you. You have the strength and the courage to stand up to anything or anyone that comes in your path.? Para halted his speech for a moment to take in the emotions that were flowing toward from all the soldiers standing before him.
?We will win. I guarantee it. Even if each and everyone of us fall here today we have done our best and that makes us winners. We will take as many of those bastards with us.? Some smiles surfaced around the crowd of men.
?Now lets do this. TO VICTORY! TO UNITED!? Para yelled raising his fist into the dark clouded sky of the mighty fortress.
The soldiers seem rejuvenated as they rallied each other to there posts. They weren?t scared anymore, they had no nerves. There were no images of death and fear of the unknown running through the minds. Para had got it right, he had gotten them ready to go. He had also helped himself believe in what they could do. The saiyan was ready to fight, he wouldn?t be denied Victory.
