Here's how I explained this to Violet.

Reijin: SSJ
Physicals: 10 / 15 / 20 / 25
Mentals: .25 / .5 / .75 / 1
Berserk: Ranks B and C
Bright Ki: Rank S
XP: 40 / 40 / 60 / 70
Reijin: increases your physicals, lowers your mentals. You are Beserk and insane for Rank B and C
Reijin: you can control it at Rank A finally with x20 phys, but x0.75 mentals
Reijin: at Rank S you finally achieve normal mentals again with planning, and x25 phys, but you are a glowing nova for th eworld to see
Reijin: none of this "strictly beneficial no downside" crap
Reijin: more strategy to fights
Violet: thus, the freedom, but also control, to where people don't god mod by being too powerful without being detected all around
Reijin: also
Reijin: xp
Reijin: do you want to increase your stats?
Reijin: do you want new abilities?
Reijin: do you want new powerups to enhance your stats?
Reijin: how are you spending them?
Reijin: you go blow them on SSJ ranks and get the highest rank on it after like 210 xp for x25 phys
Reijin: but if you are base 1 per point
Reijin: 3 phys/ 3 mental
Reijin: you are going to be considered 25/25/25/1/1/1 for the fight
Reijin: someone else who spend those same 210
Reijin: on their phys stats alone
Reijin: would be like 65/65/65/1/1/1 or something
Violet: oh snap, so they would actually succeed in that fight then/
Violet: even if the other guy has ssj
Reijin: but later when you have good points
Reijin: getting the powerup means multipliers which add to more than adding more single points
Violet: so its more relying on your actual points than powerups
Reijin: or even just normal abilities
Reijin: to enhance your styles
Reijin: not necessarily
Reijin: imagine you have 50/50/50/50/50/50 for stats
Reijin: spend that 210 on phys
Reijin: not sure how to add that, but you see a general number in your head
Reijin: now take that same 50 each, times them by 25
Violet: 260?
Reijin: no
Violet: oh
Reijin: three phys stats
Violet: >.>
Violet: ooh
Reijin: so more like... 120/120/120/50/50/50
Violet: oh, divide it up equally among the three. yeah. 70 to each phys
Reijin: but if you times them by 25 for the same cost, then you are..
Reijin: (trying to do in head)
Reijin: something like 300/300/300/50/50/50
Reijin: so while powered up, you win there
Violet: jesus
