Alex Smith's development will slow down, maybe take a step backwards with a new offensive system after Norv Turner (Off. Coordinator) left. Teams know who GORE is now, they'll put in an effort to stop him. They still don't have a quality defense of reciever.

Almost the entire NFC is weak. Most of the teams win hard games and lose easy games. Most of them are unpredictable. Last year, the 49ers made great progress, and showed moderate consistency. The defense will improve with the presence of new faces and gelling of old ones.

Also, they have Darrel Jackson now, though isn't as good as Brandon Loyd, he's good enough. Hell, he was the most consistent WR for the Seahawks. Also, their other receiver, Bryant, it pretty good. Alex Smith shall be given more flexibility. Frank Gore will still pound. Also, they drafted a back-up RB to compliment him. Their devision is weak.
