You're looking at this the wrong way. This isn't the jump-off point for your character, the jump-off point was when he was born. I know it sounds cheesy, but you have to remember that this is just another day in your character's life.

Now, if you don't know who your character is, you've got bigger problems than DA07.

A very common way of working out the first few pieces of writing is to imagine people (who emulate aspects of your character) in the same situations. You probably don't want Bojack to just be a copy of someone else, but its a good way to get started. Raditzu, for example, is an exaggerations of a lot of my personality traits. Whenever I have trouble thinking what to write, I just imagine the situation and put myself in it. Now, that's not always going to get you writing great RPs, but its an easy and effective technique to getting the ball rolling.
