The rain had faltered by now, quite possibly startled by the changeling duo. It seemed logical enough to KC for him to believe this and try to get Koola to follow suit. "Koola, the rain. It retreats into the clouds at our approach." Koola, on the other hand, hadn't bothered to pay much attention to KC's blatant rambling. It concerned him that his pointless words didn't touch his son.
"What's the matter?" King Cold asked, coming to a halt. Koola followed suit, of course, as something was on his mind. "Are you still jealous about that time I took your little girlfriend, because I gave her back..." KC joked with a whole-hearted smile, even punching Koola in the shoulder.
"Its just I haven't seen you in some time and..." Koola seemed strained, almost to let go of his thoughts. Constipation is the only thing King Cold could compare the look on his face to.
"Just let it out," Cold started, thinking back to the last time he'd seen his son. He honestly couldn't recall, but he did remember then-and-there that he had another son somewhere about.
"Where's mom?" Koola managed, his face contorted in confusion. Apparently this had been bugging him for quite some time.
Colds eyes narrowed and he looked about, making sure no eavesdroppers were about and completely unaware of the audio sensors. "We never talk about that son. Kay, ever." Cold knew damn well where Koola's mom was, but how do you explain to a self-absorbed prince that his mother was an unaccount link in a plot summary.
Cold could loosen up a bit more around his son than when he was with anyone else, he couldn't ponder any particular reasons why. That's just the way it is. They slowed down, their sprint becoming more of a hike since they needed to save their energy in case they ran into anyone. Cold gave Koola's previous words some thought before he spoke again. "You know, I think maybe they did leave us on an island by ourselves. What kind of sick, sick game is this?"
