I see what you're saying, though.

I knew about the poison. It was a part of my plan. It just backfired, and in a way I didn't expect it to. So I have myself to blame for not recognizing that scenario. I had every other scenario covered other than the poison for the simple reason that if he were to join me he wouldn't have it, and if he didn't join me he'd save it.

The poison, in my opinion, is the most dangerous weapon of all, provided the right circumstances.
