NEATER. 'Better' implies you stand a better chance with a sword than you do with a gun. Which is retarded. Modern ranged weaponry > anything else. I know I've said something like this before, but it bears repeating.

Also with historical I think it depends on the time period and setting. Some people would love to read books about the industrial revolution, whilst others would loathe it yet would happily read about medieval life.
