"I didn't die . . . you just heard things.? ?Paige? declared to her traveling partner, causing him cut his puppetmaster strings and let Garlic Jr. fall to the dirt below. She readied herself to leave the corpse ridden area, so he did the same.
"Really?" Seventeen asked quizzically, turning his head towards the former whitelighter.
"Yes . . . really." she responded, shooting the android a look.
"Awesome!" It was clear to Cargo that the cyborg had lost his mind. Or at least, it had scrambled. The Namekian child glanced over at his new partner. Seventeen was playfully walking alongside of him, oblivious to the truth of the situation. Cargo could only smile at his luck. First, he ran into the brainless garbage disposal and now, a hallucinating machine-hybrid. While the teenager had grown to enjoy killing throughout the Abyss, it wouldn?t hurt to have someone watching his back. When the time was right, the android would fall.
?At least he?s a competent fighter and . . . somewhat intelligent.? Cargo said internally, as he bent over to pick up the basketball which laid at his feet. His rise was greeted by the robot?s embrace. His arms slowly slid down the child?s front, nearing his midsection. Cargo did the first thing he could think of to keep his cover. He hastily thrust the ball under his tunic.
?When are you going to drop all this weight?? Seventeen joked, grinning from ear to ear. The cybernetic fighter pressed lovingly on Cargo?s ?stomach?. Everything was growing uncomfortable, quickly. The young child hadn?t even been in a situation like this with a Namekian girl and now he was thrust into one with a delusional man. It made for good TV.
?I?m glad you?re here.? The android uttered as he let his left hand wander up and stroke Paige?s imaginary ruby red hair. ?I love you.? Android Seventeen leaned down and kissed the top of the bald child?s head. It took all the intestinal fortitude the youngling had to not kill his ?boyfriend? right then and there. A strong elbow into his new partner?s gut would have to suffice.
?I . . . I love you too.? Cargo forced out, trying his damnedest not to give anything away. He slinked away from Seventeen and continued to walk forward. The cyborg jovially followed her down the path.
?Hey.? the android piped up after a short silence. ?Has the collar disabled your healing powers?? He motioned to the still sizable hole in his belly.
?Uh . . . no.? Cargo responded after a moment?s hesitation, deciding that avoidance of the situation was the best course of action. The Namekian was concerned with something else.
?So that?s what it is.? he cogitated, ?As long that injury is sustained, he won?t return to normal.? Cargo now eyed the ki pistol that his companion was now twirling around his finger. ?I need to be wary, just in case he snaps out of it.? he thought as he backtraced over to the spud gun. ?Now . . . I have to make this convincing.? Acting school would have paid off.
Cargo bent over to pick up the gun, giving Seventeen a perfect view of Paige?s ample apparitional ass. Sex appeal was as great a way as any to get what he wanted. The droid's eyes quickly found their way over to Paige's derriere. In as much of a whine as he could muster, Cargo said, ?Hey honey, this gun is too heavy for me. Can we switch?? The cybernetic brawler immediately halted his cowboy gun tricks and turned to look at Paige. His lower lip bulged outwards and his eyes widened; The classic puppy dog look.
?But I like my gun.? he replied, bottom lip quivering.
?Don?t you want me . . . me and the baby[to be safe and adequately armed. I wouldn?t be able to fire this burdensome thing.? Cargo said, thinking quick on his feet. Seventeen looked inches from throwing a tempertantrum, but his rationality soon kicked in.
?Yes . . .? the robot whined. He slowly walked over slowly and gave Paige the ki gun and relieved her of the potato cannon. ?I can have fun with this.? he exclaimed as he ran his hands over the shiny metallic weapon. ?Pew pew pew! he imitated as he pretended to shoot a few spuds into the early morning sky. However, his childish elation was soon replaced by a more somber look. ?Just don?t leave me, Paige.
?Sure.? Cargo responded, smirking. ?We?ll fight through this game together.?
?To the end.?
