I meant like you have to have a certain pokemon and level it up in certain areas now. Before it was just certain levels, and elemental stones. Then it got to be affection levels, night and day, genders, now it's special areas too.

Not the capture part, but now the evolutions themselves have extra restrictions before being allowed.

Plus there's EV training and breeding egg moves and such. I think because now they can do so many different things on the DS they used that capability to make the game more complicated. And also like I said before they either realized that Pokemon fans are older and smarter now, or they think kids are smarter these days.
