The townspeople of Boulder City called it the Gold Mansion. It was general knowledge that this not-so-humble abode was home to the Novikovs'. They were a family of three; Dennis the father, his wife Olivia, and their son David (or as his parents called him Davy). It stood on a slight hill overlooking the town. Once a grassy paster for farm animals, the Novikov's had erected a white manor embroidered with gold paint. It was easily the grandest house of the small farming town, and the family made a point of keeping that way. They employed nearly half the village as cooks, butlers, cleaners, gardeners and the likes. Despite all the workers that came in contact with the Novikov's, nobody had the faintest idea of how they achieved such prosperity. It remained a mystery until the head butler, Eugene, overheard some Dennis remarking smugly about one of his investment.

"Would you like some tea, my young sir?" asked Eugene bowing deeply to get eye level with David. Eugene was bent at ninety degrees for the David's head barely reached over the marble table. He nodded vigorously and his short skinny arms gripped the teacup as soon as it was finished being poured. He lifted it to his mouth and took a large gulp. Instantly, he spewed the tea from his mouth back into the cup.

"Burned my tongue," David said his brilliant blue eyes watering in pain.

"Aw, Davey," soothed Olivia in tone fit for a toddler, "Is my poor baby okay?"

"He's fine Olivia," grunted Dennis. "A boy needs pain to learn, it's good for him." David wore an apathetic expression it was evident by his gaze toward the window that he wasn't listening to his father. "Now what was I saying," continued Dennis, "Oh, yes. My last investment has been the best so far. Blue Science Studies has already offered my Fifty Mill for that freak, I'm still waiting from International Science & Business."

Eugene ears perked up and his attention to pouring more water in Olivia's glass faded. "Eugene! You're spilling my water," exclaimed Olivia.

"I'm sorry mam," replied Eugene tersely. His mind was elsewhere, wondering what freak Dennis had invested in.

"Well thats great offer, honey," exclaimed Olivia as she turned to Dennis. "Then do you think you'll be able to spend so more time with Davey."

Davey know what was coming. "Olivia, I work so David can live in the luxury I never had when I was young," said Dennis with the same tone as if he was reciting an well rehearsed speech.

"I have to use the bathroom," lied David to escape the same fight between his parents that he heard so many times. He left the room and walked down the hall toward the bathroom, then turned sharply and headed toward the west wing of the house. For most people navigating through this house would be a nightmare. However, David had spent his whole life exploring the mansion. After an near fifteen minutes of walking he stopped before a silver door. He fumbled in his pockets as he took out key that he had long ago stolen from his father. He smiled quickly as he remembered the furious rage his father been in when he had lost the key. David opened the door and descended the spiraling staircase, until he came to his father's latest freak investment.
Their right in front of David was a thick glass cage which imprisoned a small boy. He looked ordinary with jet black spiky hair that stood up erratically, accompanied by forest green eyes. The only difference, visually, in the boy was a brown tail that wagged side to side. He looked skinny and starved, but their was no frailty in his composure, but rather a defined strength and energy emanated from his presence.

"David!" shouted the prisoner excitedly.

"Hey Goku," replied David.

"So, what's up?" asked Goku.

"I'm going to get to the point. You're going to be sold so we got to get you out of here and fast."

"But why am I going to be sold?" asked Goku. But it wasn't really a question for they both knew exactly why he was being sold. A tangible orb of cobalt blue light materialized in one of Goku's hand and he moved it around the cage before slamming it into the glass imprisonment without even cracking the glass. The boys stood in silence, each plotting away to escape.

"We'll find a way, I know it," David exclaimed.
