Yes, weapons can be destroyed in fights, though only for particular situations. It'll probably be really rare, but in some cases it's unavoidable.

Well, it won't have any affect on the results, but if course the actual fight would be different on a mountain then it would be on a beach.

If someone is x40, yea, you're right. But keep in mind everyone will be at base ki for the most part, and thus the fights will be (slightly) most realistic.
