Rebby's Big Brother 8 (Ep 1.1)
#3
[Image: sheilaicon.jpg] Sheila: Well, I suppose I'll start. My name is Sheila, I was born and raised in Japan, but moved here at the age of ten. I have a wonderful boyfriend back home, and actually, only a few weeks before I came here, he proposed marriage to me.

[Madelyn, who is sitting right next to Sheila, gasps loudly.]

[Image: madelynicon.jpg] Madelyn: No way! Oh my God, congratulations!

[Image: sheilaicon.jpg] Sheila: [She smiles.] Thank you. I appreciate that. Yes, I'm very happy. We plan to get married in December.

[Image: madelynicon.jpg] Madelyn: Well okay, I guess it's my turn then! Hi y'all! I'm Madelyn, but y'all can call me Maddie. I'm so excited to be here, you guys have no idea. I've watched this show for so long, I'm a big fan. This is like, a dream come true for me.

[Image: debbieicon.jpg] Debbie (Diary Room): Maddie is one of those sexy, sultry Southern belles that you know all the guys will be following and drooling over. But personally, there's something about her I don't like, and I can't put my finger on it. I don't know, maybe it's the accent. [She laughs.]

[Image: simonicon.jpg] Simon: My name is Simon. I joined the army just a few years ago. I served in Iraq for several months, but I was mortally wounded in battle, shot in the arm actually. My arm ended up getting infected so the doctors had no choice but to amputate, so I now have a prosthetic arm. [He rolls up his sleeve to reveal a fake arm that none of the houseguests had noticed prior to learning this information. Many of them gasp in shock.] Yeah, it's been a rough road. It's been almost three years now, and I'm still trying to get used to this damn arm. But I'm just glad to be alive.

[Image: allenicon.jpg] Allen: Wow, that's awesome, dude. Good for you. [He then turns his attention to all of his housemates.] Hey guys, I'm Allen, and I'm a self-proclaimed nerd. I'm not ashamed of my nerdom, I'm very proud of it actually. I've been a computer geek for as long as I can remember, and I now work as a computer engineer.

[Image: savannahicon.jpg] Savannah: Hey, I'm Savannah. Like Miss Sheila over here, I wasn't born in the beautiful USA. I was born in Kenya and was raised there by my parents, but they both died of a bad disease when I was about four. My grandparents lived here so I came to move with them for thirteen years, and then they died. So then I moved in with my boyfriend, and before we knew it, we was havin' a baby. I had to drop outta high school, and we were gonna get married, but he got killed in a car accident right before the baby was born. Well anyway, to make a long story short, I'm 26 now, still takin' care of my baby, with no job and no one for support. So that's why I signed up for this, to win some money. I need it, bad.

[Several houseguests are shown drying tears from their eyes after the emotional story. Annie, who is sitting right next to Savannah, reaches over and gives her a hug.]

[Image: debbieicon.jpg] Debbie (Diary Room): Savannah's obviously had a really rough life, and yes, I feel sorry for her, but I wasn't too crazy about the long, in-depth sob story that she gave. It's almost like she was desperate for sympathy and pity. I can understand she needs this money, but obviously we all do, otherwise we wouldn't be here.

[Image: annieicon.jpg] Annie: [She wipes some tears from her eyes.] Wow, that's a tough one to follow. [She laughs, still wiping her eyes with her finger.] Well, let's see... uhm... my name is Annie Mays, I work as a nurse in an elementary school. I've been happily married for almost ten years; actually, my ten-year anniversary is coming up in a few days. I was hesitant at first to come out here because I didn't want to miss out on such a big milestone in our lives, but my husband insisted I come here. And I'm glad he did. I love it here already.

[Image: bensonicon.jpg] Benson: [He speaks with a thick Jamaican accent.] Hello, my name is Benson, and I suppose I am the third person here who was not born in this country. I was born and raised in Jamaica, and moved to this country about ten years ago. I chose to become a pastor shortly after coming here, because I feel a very strong connection with the Lord.

[Image: dylanicon.jpg] Dylan: Hey guys, I'm Dylan, 25 years old, and I'm an aspiring pro-football player. I've been playing ball since I was five years old, no joke. I've been working hard, training a lot, trying to get a spot in the NFL.

[Image: madelynicon.jpg] Madelyn: [She speaks in a flirtatious tone.] Which team would you wanna play for?

[Image: dylanicon.jpg] Dylan: Oh, the Eagles, without a doubt. They've been my favorite team my whole life.

[Image: zandericon.jpg] Zander: Okay, my name's Alexander, but I've been going by Zander since I was born, it sounds cooler. Right now I work as a hair stylist, but my main passion in life right now is dance. I've been taking dance classes for, let's see... five years now. I love it, so I hope to someday do it professionally.

[Image: nieshaicon.jpg] Niesha: [Her eyes are still puffy from crying.] Okay, well I'm sure you all know me by now, I'm Niesha, the psycho girl that had a temper tantrum a little while ago. I wanna apologize for that, this whole thing is just very stressful for me. I have a boyfriend back home who I've been dating for three years and this is the first time I've been separated from him, so I'm just a little cranky right now. I promise I'll get better.

[Image: joyceicon.jpg] Joyce: [She pats Niesha on the back.] I know you will, sweetie. Hi, everyone, my name is Joyce, and it looks like the old lady of the house. And that's a little depressing to me; I'm only 44, for Pete's sake! [She laughs.] Anyhoo, I have a loving husband of 20 years back at home, and I have three wonderful children. And I know I'm much older than most of you, but I assure you, I'm young at heart. I won't be a boring, farty old lady that isolates herself from the group. In fact, I plan to be the exact opposite.

[Image: zandericon.jpg] Zander (Diary Room): I love Joyce already. Hey, she may be the oldest one here, but damn, she's got an awesome personality. She's so loveable; she's like the mom of the house.

[Image: paulicon.jpg] Paul: Hey guys, I'm Paul. Unfortunately I've got a pretty boring life compared to most of you. [He grins uncomfortably.] So I haven't really got much to say. I work as a mail carrier... I know, not the most exciting job, but it's great exercise and not too stressful either.

[Image: debbieicon.jpg] Debbie: Howdy. The name's Debbie, you can call me Deb, Debster, D.D., B.B., Moron, whatever the hell you want, I'll go by anything. Over the past five years I've had like 400 jobs, right now though I'm working as a part-time nanny for a rich family, so the pay is great. I'm a pretty easygoing gal, but be warned, it's not a pretty thing when I get pissed off. If you piss me off, you'll regret it.

[The houseguests sit in awkward silence for a few moments.]

[Image: simonicon.jpg] Simon (Diary Room): Debbie definitely stands out from the rest of us. During our little get-to-know-you, she was really the only one that made people feel uncomfortable. I really don't know why she would threaten us on the very first night. I mean, there's that saying, "you can only make one first impression", and let me tell you, Debbie did not make a good one.

[Image: joelicon.jpg] Joel: [He clears his throat, breaking the silence.] Ahem, well, looks like I'm the last one. I'm Joel, I'm 23 years old, just recently graduated from college. I'm working as a lifeguard at Hermosa Beach, but I'm still looking for a better job that pays more. 'Cause, like most of us here, I need money, that's what I'm here for. Cold hard cash is what I need.

[Madelyn stares at Joel during his speech, a flirtatious smile on her face.]

[Image: madelynicon.jpg] Madelyn (Diary Room): Joel's a hottie! I'm glad there's someone here that'll be some good eye candy for me to look at.

NIGHT ONE (Thursday)
10:47 pm

[Annie, Debbie, Joel, Madelyn, and Zander are outside, gathered on the couches surrounding the coffee table. Debbie is smoking a cigarette, and everyone else is drinking coffee. They're discussing relationships.]

[Image: madelynicon.jpg] Madelyn: [Once again, she has a flirtatious tone to her voice.] So how 'bout you, Joel? Ever had a girlfriend?

[Image: joelicon.jpg] Joel: Yeah, I've had a few, none of them too serious though. I'm still looking for Mrs. Right.

[Madelyn giggles. Debbie rolls her eyes as she takes a puff of her cigarette.]

[Image: madelynicon.jpg] Madelyn: I haven't been in anything that serious either. I'm still lookin', too.

[Image: debbieicon.jpg] Debbie (Diary Room): The little lust-fest going on between Joel and Maddie is really sickening to me. I mean, yes, they're both young and attractive, but for God's sake, we've been here, what, three or four hours? It makes me sick to watch them.

[Image: debbieicon.jpg] Debbie: [She clears her throat, trying to prevent Joel and Madelyn from drooling over each other any further.] So... uhm... Zander... how about you, buddy?

[Image: zandericon.jpg] Zander: Well I've got a boyfriend back home. We've been together five months last Thursday, so it'll be hard being away from him for so long.

[Image: madelynicon.jpg] Madelyn: Aww, that's sweet!

[Image: zandericon.jpg] Zander: But we both decided, you know, this would be the best thing for us. We need the money, 'cause we're both pretty low on money.

[Image: joelicon.jpg] Joel: Same with me, man.

[Image: debbieicon.jpg] Debbie: Funny thing, how money can play such a huge role in our lives. Really sad, actually. Life revolves around money. It's like, if you don't have enough of it, life is miserable.

[Image: annieicon.jpg] Annie: That's not necessarily true...

[Image: debbieicon.jpg] Debbie: [She rolls her eyes.] Oh come on, of course it is.

[Image: annieicon.jpg] Annie: It's really not. My husband and I aren't the richest couple in the world but we're totally happy the way we are.

[Image: joelicon.jpg] Joel: She's got a point. Money doesn't buy happiness, I thought everyone knew that.

[Image: debbieicon.jpg] Debbie: Oh please, people who believe that saying are living in denial. I'm sorry, but it's the truth. Maybe in other countries everything's all hunky dory and people don't need money as much to survive, but we're living in the U.S. of A., and here, money is everything. It's just the facts, you can't deny it.

[Image: annieicon.jpg] Annie: [Sounding angry.] I completely disagree. Money may buy you fancy cars or fancy houses or fancy whatever, but in my opinion, a life of luxury and a life of happiness are two totally different things!

[Image: debbieicon.jpg] Debbie: Stop living in a fantasy world, honey! I can't believe you're sitting here telling me that if your life wouldn't be a thousand times better if you didn't have, let's say, a million dollars.

[Image: annieicon.jpg] Annie: [She grabs her coffee cup and gets to her feet, looking furious now.] I really don't want to talk about this anymore. I'm going inside.

[Annie storms off, opens the sliding door leading to the kitchen, and walks inside, slamming the door shut behind her. Madelyn, Joel, and Zander are left to sit in awkward silence with Debbie, who simply smiles, shakes her head, and takes another puff of her cigarette.]

[Image: annieicon.jpg] Annie (Diary Room): [She is sobbing.] Debbie is one of the most inconsiderate, most heartless human beings I've ever met. She just sat there, spitting out insults right at my face. I already regret coming here... I just want to be home with my husband. I want to be there for our ten-year anniversary. I don't want to be here... here in this hellhole... with that evil, evil woman. [She suddenly breaks down, crying uncontrollably now, unable to speak.]

NIGHT ONE (Thursday)

11:45 PM

[In the large bedroom, Sheila walks in to see Benson unpacking things under his bed. Everyone else seems to have gathered in the dining room/kitchen area to chat.]

[Image: bensonicon.jpg] Benson: Hey, what's up? Too loud in there for you?

[Image: sheilaicon.jpg] Sheila: Yea, a little bit. It's all so overwhelming. What about you? [She begins to unpack her own stuff under the bed next to Benson's]

[Image: bensonicon.jpg] Benson: Just thought I'd take a break from all the action. Between Joel and Madelyn's flirting and everyone glaring at Debbie, it all gets old fast.

[Image: sheilaicon.jpg] Sheila: I feel the exact same way. But we can't look like we're too annoyed, right?

[Image: bensonicon.jpg] Benson: Yea, I guess you're right. [He turns to her.] Tell you what, I'll keep you informed if I hear anything about either of us. [He extends his hand.] Cool?

[Image: sheilaicon.jpg] Sheila: [She takes his hand and shakes it, grinning.] I totally agree, and I will too. Outsiders gotta stick out for each other, right?

[Before Benson can respond, Dylan the football player appears at the door, peeking in.]

[Image: dylanicon.jpg] Dylan: Hey, you guys scheming it up in here?

[Image: bensonicon.jpg] Benson: [He laughs, playing it up as the handshake breaks.] Nah mon', we're just introducin' ourselves.

[Image: dylanicon.jpg] Dylan: Alright, that's cool. Well, the others wanted me to get you guys. We're doing a toast to the first night.

[Image: sheilaicon.jpg] Sheila: Oh, cool. I'll meet you out there Benson.

[Image: sheilaicon.jpg] Sheila (Diary Room): If there is one thing I'm good at, it's reading people. I can tell that Benson is being honest right now, but if he ever turned against me, he'd be a hard guy to oppose.

[Image: bensonicon.jpg] Benson (Diary Room): I think Sheila and I can go real far if we can keep our friendship a secret. Coming into the game, I knew the one thing I needed would be an information source. Sheila is it.

[Image: dylanicon.jpg] Dylan (Diary Room): Benson is smooth, no doubt about it. I caught him and Sheila red-handed, but he played it off perfectly. If I didn't know any better, I would have bought it. But I do, so now I have my eyes on him.

NIGHT ONE (Thursday)

1:10 AM

[Out in the living room, everyone has gotten situated in a seat on the couch or chair. Big Brother has provided the houseguests with two bottles of wins. Benson returns from the bedroom, signalling the start of the toast.]

[Image: joelicon.jpg] Joel: Alright, we're all here! Everyone ready?

[Image: madelynicon.jpg] Madelyn: This is so exciting!

[Paul and Joel each hold up a bottle of wine. Everyone stands up with their glasses as the bottles open up and pour over into the glasses.]

[Image: joyceicon.jpg] Joyce: To Big Brother!

[Image: zandericon.jpg] Zander: To a great summer!

[A lot of houseguests say 'here here!' as the celebration ends with a toast.]

[Image: allenicon.jpg] Allen (Diary Room): Everyone's all happy and go-lucky now, but the game hasn't really begun yet. Soon, we're all gonna be backstabbing and throwing each other out. It's gonna be a slaughterhouse.

[Image: savannahicon.jpg] Savannah (Diary Room): [She laughs.] I don't trust any of these people!
