No, it would be one universe. Say the chosen universe is Pirates of the Caribbean. Role play as flying too close to the rift and then wake up as Captain Jack Sparrow, and without any knowledge having been otherwise. Each person would pick the character they would be and then they would take place in a storyline involving that universe.
