Depends on the quest.
Tokens is a great example of staff giving you a storyline, almost like a mini saga. You, the roleplayer RP up to a certain point, then(in the case of tokens), leave an OOC, a lot of people will leave an OOC message in their post saying that 'if staff would be so kind, what next?'
Other times, on quests such as diplomacy, you just do it yourself, and once your done, you post here(Q/S/U) asking for it to be graded, and staff will get to it.
Diplomacy, I wouldnt do it, since it seems a lot of people recentaly did it, and I dont think you can have more than 1 quest going on at a time(2 people = cant do it unless they work together/split reward).
