I do want to point something out, and no, please do not take this as me complaining. I actually waited for the nominations to finish just to show this, and it turned out exactly as I expected. This actually perfectly proves a point of something I responded to Dana with, and I'm sure that he'll see this post through the use of various methods that I know he's familiar with.
Look at the names up there regarding roleplays. 2006 includes Friend or Foe 2, which was probably my best work, and the other Dante's Abyss, in which I placed second. People constantly claim that "oh Reijin is one of the best writers, I'm doomed" if they are paired up against me in a competition, but I'm really not.
Dana, as you see, my name is not listed above in a single category despite my finishes in those competitions. In fact, to show that the majority doesn't necessarily agree with Burter's feelings of my writing, people that were eliminated in those events earlier than me are on there with their writing while I'm not.
This is why I constantly find myself caught between being hellbent to grow as a writer (when people respond with "oh you are great don't worry") and losing complete interest and not caring. To the general populace, I'm not that great or a favorite, so I feel the need to improve.
So let's not freak out when paired up against me anymore =D I think people back themselves into a corner completely from the hype itself, similar to how everyone spazzes if paired with Rad when I'm willing to go up against him in a heartbeat. I'll even put that on the line in DA:C if necessary.
Again, I'm in NO way complaining or looking for attention, I'm simply pointing something out for the benefit of people like Dana that constantly feel they are being held back and in the shadow of people like me. Keep trying, b/c even the titans find themselves eclipsed. Congrats to all who made it =D
