Two of my class mates bug me to play everytime I see them. If it becomes free...I'll play again. I'm considering joining just to make a Worgen rogue.

... Lol. I'm actually a disc/holy priest that uses smite and holy fire to level. Everyone looks at my spec and is like "WAT".

Also I totally wish you could raid as a disc/holy dps priest. I'm 100% sure no one would take me though hahaha.

There's a spec that's half and half. They aren't as good at tank healing as disc, nor are they as good as aoe heals as holy, but they still are acceptable in raids as one of the random healers who heal dps.

Priests can't raid heal very well. Druids have that encompassing heal that's required for healing the entire group. A priest should focus on the main tank.

Priests aren't build like they were before BC where that logic was complete bull.

That's how is used to be, but holy priests no can raid heal very well. While they still can't compare to druids, who can ONLY raid heal (In my opinion, although there is a tank healing spec for them), holy priests can pull out some nice raid heals.

Is there actually a chance of WoW becoming free?

Priests can use Prayer of Mending as well as Circle of Healing to raid heal very well. In fact, they had to nerf the crap out of CoH due to it becoming THE mandatory raid heal. Last I'd heard it was still not bad though, although I haven't played since 3.1, much.

WoW won't ever be free because Activision owns it. Unless they can figure out a way to get money from gamers with another type of fee.

Did you read the article?

The idea was to switch from subscriptions to micro-transactions. Personally, I think that would be a good idea, but I'm also horribly biased towards micro-transactions.

Obviously she didn't!

It's never actually free. It's just a non-subscription based fee. They'll make you pay real money for bags or mounts or character slots. They already sort of do it with all the race/faction/server changes. But that's in addition to the monthly fee.

Their subscription numbers would need to drop significantly or if they were no longer interested in developing further content (to pursue a new project for example).

That's not what he meant. They have separate project teams. "To pursue another project" means to reallocate those already working on WoW content, for the purposes of that comment.

Its a brilliant business plan, and provides the services to the widest possible user base while still allowing for a stream of income.

A new MMOG, anyway.

I find it interesting that China banned WoW. Free Realms any good guys? And there are already micro transactions in WoW, but they're not legit.

Those don't count as "micro transactions" for the purposes of the conversation.

An actual micro-transaction provides Blizzard with an alternate method of income. Not some random gold farmer.

It would piss a lot of people off if WoW went micro.

I hope you didn't say that with a straight face.

It would piss a lot of people off if the official acronym was changed from "WoW" to "wOw."

Fact of the matter is that micro-transactions allows for an influx of player who either left or were never interested because of the monthly subscription, and every new person playing is another opportunity to make money from micro-transactions.
