I'm tempted to be an Orc, not least because they'll probably be somewhat rare amongst the prettyboy elves. >_> I'm open to any suggestions, though.

What are some of the over-used and lesser-used classes? Healers always seem to be in high demand. Gimme some clues for what to pick.

Elves of both varieties are pretty popular. On this kind of server you see a lot of Spellcasters too, since they're easy to solo with. Classes that use daggers and dagger skills are a lot of fun to play, and I haven't seen too many on this server.

Orc... uh... punchers are really cool. I forget what the class is called, but they're big and they punch the shit out of everything.

I'm liking the option of Orc Fighter-Monk-Tyrant. I had quite a bit of fun with my barehanded lizard man in SWG. But I'm wondering how well they do in groups. If they don't do so well I might go with Shaman, for the all-round buffing option.

Shaman are alright, but it's better it just take the human buffer because their buffs are so much stronger. A party can ALWAYS use more dmg. We can never have too many Archers/Strong Spellcasters/Orc fighters.

We don't have a healer either.. so if you wanted to do that I'd be cool with not dying.

Well, looking at the error, it looks like your folder is missing some stuff it thinks it needs. I don't know what I would suggest other than trying to download it again. And I'm sure that's not really the solution you were looking for.
