Dante's Abyss 2007 Sign-Ups
#21
As the white light faded, Doma found himself on a strange planet surrounded by tall, unusual looking figures who were staring at his point of arrival in shock.

"Hi!" Doma said, grasping a protesting man's hand that was outstretched towards him and shaking it. "My name is Doma. I gotta go now, but see you later!"

Whipping around, he bumped right into the chest of a large, dark man with a jagged scar down his face. His eyes widening at the sight of the man, Doma went to sidestep him and his exit was blocked.

"Umm, could you please move, sir?" Doma asked politely, still trying to find a way around the large man. "I gotta be somewhere really soon."

"You're about to be in the afterlife, kid!" the brute yelled before throwing a punch straight for Doma's face. The Utopian tried to shout a warning, but it was too late. A flash of light flared around the two, and when the light faded, the tall brute was lying on the ground, clutching his face and rolling on the ground.

"I'm sorry, but I tried to tell you." Doma said apologetically, extending a hand. The brute pushed himself to his feet, gave an odd look at the small youth, then stomped off in the opposite direction. Puzzled, Doma turned to leave and bumped into a lady in a blue dress. This just isn't my day! he thought to himself with a dejected sigh.

"Those were some awesome moves. How would you like to be a part of Dante's Abyss?"

"Huh?" Doma asked, his eyes widening even further. The woman looked startled, for good reason too. It almost looked like the young lad's eyes were about to pop out of his face. "What is a Dante? Or for thaatmatter, an 'Abyss'?"

The woman sighed, thrusting pen and paper on the youth. Taking it, Doma looked over the document and realized it was form he had to fill out.

"Do-ma... Ga-rou..." he recited as he wrote down his name and the other fields. Handing it back to her, the woman looked at him curiously. It could've been his pointed ears, his feminine voice or even the dorky look he had on his face, but it was probably just his imagination.

"Alright, can you show me a special move or attack?" the woman asked eagerly.

"Well, to be honest, my people are forbidden to fight.." Doma responded, looking at the girl, completely flummoxed.

"Then how did you beat up that guy who was messing with you earlier?"

"Actually, heh..." Doma hesitated, grinning sheepishly. "It is a trait we Utopians have. We are not permitted to fight, but we are not allowed to receive damage either. Our powers are to preserve the Natural Balance, so we neither really receive nor deal damage, unless we actually strike someone, be it in self defense or anger."

"That is GREAT! The fans would LOVE this kind of material! You are just naive, gullible and unique enough to provide us with some good material! You may proceed."

Doma looked at the girl strangely, then turned towards where she pointed and began walking. He was somewhat hurt at being called gullible and naive, but also excited about this new experience. He was sure it was something he had never been involved in, and the way she spoke about violence made him wonder what kind of gathering it was.

Walking to the end of the way, he found a large tent and stepped into it. A man wearing dark red robes and a pointed hat turned to him, waving an odd looking stick in the air.

"Are you ready to be transported?" he said, already moving the stick in a circular motion and muttering some strange words.

"Actually, I-" he got out before he felt a zap of electricity and his molecules began to disintegrate. The last thought before he was whisked away to wherever was:

Ooh... tingly!

((sorry if that wasnt too good. It's been awhile since my last DBZ RPG, so I am playing it by ear))

?Excuse me sir, I?m going to have to ask you to leave.? A young waiter was standing in front of a large, pink man. However, the overweight man was too busy eating his food to even hear the waiter. ?Sir, I?ll ask you again, you have to remove yourself from the building.?

The overweight monster finally looked up, with his face full of corn and utensils. As he shoved another roll into his mouth, he asked in a muffled gargle, ?Whazup??, before continuing to consume his food. At this point, the waiter became furious. He snatched an apple from the large pink gum wad and set it back down on what was left of the table. The large man looked up again and with an irritated tone said, ?Hey, Dodoria wa gonna eat that ?

?Sir,? the waiter began, ?you have to leave the building. You have driven away the customers with your sloppy and grotesque table manners, and you have broken or consumed much of our fine silverware. You have to leave now, or I?ll call security on you to force you out.? With a firm stomp, the waiter pointed toward the door. ?Depart!?

The large being slow rose up, dropping several food stuffs from his hands. He was over a head taller than the waiter, and looked down on him with a deranged smile. He bent down until his head was level with the waiter?s. ?Dodoria no like you big words. And Dodoria still hungry. You do fine.? With a frightened look, the waiter tried to run from the mighty pink man, but he was quickly caught. As the man screamed, Dodoria slowly opened his mouth to its full size, the size of a manhole. His lunch struggled, but the waiter could not free himself from the hungry monster?s grip. With a quick bite, the lower half of the man was consumed, and a bloodcurdling screech was heard. In a matter of moments, the young waiter was eaten alive.

Dodoria left the building and went outside, wiping his mouth of all the blood. With his stomach full, the pink monster wanted something fun to do. He glanced around for something of interest, and saw people in a large line. Dodoria drew closer, wondering what could make people wait in line so long. The only thing Dodoria waited for was food. He finally reached a two-story building with a large sign on top. ?Dante?s Abyss Sign-ups Inside,? Dodoria read aloud, ?Sounds fun.?

The overweight gumwad began pushing the other contestants aside, trying to reach the front of the line. Although many powerful fighters were lined up, Dodoria was determined to reach the sign-up stand. Some let the fat man pass, some cursed and swore, but most tried to stop him. Those who tried met the hard side of Dodoria?s fist. After several minutes and many broken noses later, the pink monster finally reached the front of the line.

There was an old man behind the sign-up table with enormously thick glasses. ?Yes? Oh, another one to try-out, eh? K, you young whippersnapper, what is yur name??

?What? Why you need know that??

?You city-folk and yur flying machines and yur questions, you never give out no information on nothing unless you have get reason. Back in my day, I?d give me house address and me key to some random stranger and wake up with all my processions gone the next day. That was the good old days. Now you got ?auto-mobiles? and ?telephones? and ?computers? and ?windows.? Back in my day...?

?Shut Hell up!? yelled the annoyed pink man. ?Dodoria, me name Dodoria. Happy now??

?Bout damn time, you young whippersnapper! Now I need to take some ?pictures? of you. Back in my day, we never had ?cameras.? We use good old fashioned dirt and sticks on some rocks to make a picture. Those were the good old days. But I digress, say ?dirt!?? After the old man finished taking the pictures, the began to pull out the video camera.

?Hey, what Dante?s Abyss bout?? asked Dodoria.

?Whabuwah?!? You be meaning to say you are going through all this and you don?t know what yur doing? You young, dumb-ass whippersnapper, this new generation seems to get dumber and stupider each passing second. Back in my day, we use leafs for paper and blood for ink. We had to walk 50 miles to get to a school, uphill, in the snow, while wild monkeys are chasing you, all the while carrying several 50 pound stone tablets for books. Now you young retards don?t even have to leave your house to get your education thanks to the ?internet.? However, you still manage to ruin that with yur ?porn? and yur ?video games.? I?d give me left nut and an eye to get that kind of information, and I mean the porn. Back in my day...?

Dodoria nearly fell asleep due to the old man?s babble. He turned his attention away from the old man to look behind him. The fighters he had beaten up had regained consciousness, and wanted revenge against the large, pink monster. Dodoria was ready to fight and kill each of them, but his stomach was churning. ?Waiter was no ripe,? the fat, sick man moaned as he felt his inside were going to come back out. He put his hand to his mouth, but it was too late. Dodoria unleashed a massive burp toward the other contestants. They tried to run away, but they couldn?t escape it. The blast blew down the front wall of the building, as well as the entire line of people and the nearby buildings. All that was left of the gas attack was a large crater.

?Well, look at that. That's showin yur stuff. And, me camera caught that whole thing. You are cleared to enter the teleporter.?

Dodoria looked at the man with a vacant look. He began scratching his head, wondering if leveling half a city was some kind of godly act. ?Urp?? asked the aftershock of Dodoria?s atomic burp. ?And what be Dante?s Abyss??

?Shut the hell up, you young whippersnapper, and just get in the teleporter. You young people never appreciate what us older people do for you. Back in my day, I always respected my parents and my elders, because I...? Not wanting to hear another story, the large pink gumwad squeezed into the teleporter, wondering where he was going and what he was going to do.

ooc: Been awhile since I RP'ed, and the first time as Dodoria. Hope it is good enough.

A steady breeze brushed out it's undetermined path across the sun baked tiles of the lookout's surface. The golden domes of the buildings glistened in the always bright light from above. The clouds below nipped at the underbelly of the massive sky fortress. From this height all was quiet. The only sounds were those of winds being caught up in the architecture of the Lookout's arches and pillars. One could be at peace with their thoughts, finding the time to listen to themselves.

A lone figure stood out on the edge of the great tower in the sky. A hood protected his head from the pounding rays of sunlilght which provided so much needed energy to the planet. The breeze kicked up again, finding itself caught in the hood covering the head of the stoic individual on the brink of the platform, only endless clouds below.

It's been a long time... he thought to himself. He had been watching for a long time now, and even with all that was going on in the world he still yearned for the olden days once and a while. It was only now, when he had sensed noteworthy power levels traveling to similar places and leaving the planet that his desire to venture off the lookout overtook him.

I'm about due for a trip down anyways...I still haven't won that silly tournamnet yet either...

"Mr. Popo! Take care of the lookout! I'm getting an urge to take a short vacation, you are more than capable of taking care of things here. If all else fails call Dende!" The hood blew back, revealing Kami's old wrinkled head.

The ancient Namek let his body drift forward and plummet off the lookout. Clouds gave way to fields of green and brown, the wind roaring in his ears. With a thought his aura flared up around him for a moment as his controled flight began.

His thoughts drifted to the previous tournaments, and how he would like to win the next one. Dante's Abyss usually rolls around each year, providing a challenge worthy of Earth's Guardian. While he was busy reminicing the place fighters were registering came up on the horizon.

It wasn't long before he was signed up and stepping into a teleportation tube. With a slow walk and a slight limp he made his way up. A crass smile slowly spread across his face as he heard the unsuspecting commepetors in the crowd make their judgements.

"He's too old..." "He'll never make it past the lobby!" "Who let gramps out?"

If they only knew.

The hissing of a nearby pan kept the attention of the saiyan as he continued to wait impatiently. Glaring at its contents with a steady eye as time seemed to drag. The aroma that now filled the air gently passed through the mighty warrior?s nasal cavity, crippling him with a pain that he abhorred since birth: hunger.

?Hurry up.? He moaned. Knowing full well his words would change nothing but filling his mind with false hope for the extremely small chance something would occur.

The raging flame below the metal pan crackled, ejecting small sparks of fire to the side. It seemed as if it had attempted to respond but couldn?t truly in a coherent manner, or at least that?s what the young brawler came to believe.

Although its words could not be heard, its warmth could truly be felt as the act of diffusion occurred. Within the cavern walls its heat blanketed young Goku Jr, along with any other life-form within 20 foot radius. T?was indeed a great feeling but not great enough to distract the boy from his undying desire to rip apart the meat that lay sizzling before him.

The saiya-jin shuffled, attempting to get comfortable on the ground beside the fire, trying his best not to lunge at the food as it cooked. ?You know you want to go.? Breaking the silence that had filled the air quite some time ago came a voice from the far corner of the cave. Immediately Junior?s mind identified its master. It belonged to a human, a friend of his; Pylot.

?No I don?t. Shut up.? Grumbled the light skinned saiyan in response to her comment.

?GJ, you?re sitting in a cave just so you don?t see any more commercials?? She retorted wittily.

?No, I?m sitting in a cave because I?m hungry and I don?t want to kill anyone??

?You can?t die though. The commercial promised it, remember? So since you can?t die, that means you?re not killing.? She said, attempting to persuade the young warrior to participate.

?Doesn?t make it right.?

?Yes it does.? Replied the human, using as much wit as before.

Dammit, she did it again. Thought the boy as he rose to his feet, slightly agitated at the fact that he had been outsmarted yet again by a child younger than himself. ?Alright, alright. I?ll go. But only to get away from you.? He said. Sticking his tongue out to let her know that he was merely teasing.

Junior then began to walk towards an exit from the cavern but soon stopped after realizing that he was missing vital information. ?Whe-? was the only thing that could escape the boy?s mouth before the young human answered his question. ?West City.? She told him with a smile. Returning the smile the young warrior muttered the words ?Thank you.? Then proceeded to dash out of the cavern and into the night. Leaving nothing behind but a cloud of smoke and the girls voice as it echoed from the cavern, wishing him luck.

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

?I never got to eat that steak?? Complained Junior as he waited impatiently behind what seemed to be an endless line of men engaging in senseless babble. Boasting about skills that the young saiya-jin found pathetic. I hope one of these guys doesn?t take my place. That commercial said that only 44 combatants would participate? He worried. Refusing to give in to his urge to cut the line.

..if I don?t go out of my way to make sure I get a spot then this waiting will have been for nothing..

?I can?t cut the line though. That?d be wrong.? He murmured aloud. Still wrestling with the idea of sneaking ahead. Then suddenly an idea came to him. One so brilliant and obvious that he began to feel ashamed he hadn?t thought of it before.

Pushing both legs against the ground he sprang high into the air and began to shout while pointing to the rear of the line. ?Oh my god! It?s the aliens from South City! Run!? His plan seemed to have worked perfectly. The very same fighters that had seconds ago been bragging had now scattered and were running for there lives, screaming like children when Barney came on.

Hovering idly the young saiyan noticed something peculiar. The attendant at the registration table was still sitting calmly in his chair. Perplexed as to why, Junior approached the table, remaining airborne.

?Why aren?t you running or cowering in fear or something?? Inquired the boy.

?You pointed North, kid. Plus, you?re a horrible actor.?

?Oh?hehe? Responded GJ, forcing a smile as embarrassment overcame him.

?Since you seem to be the only person left, I guess your up.? Sighed the man as he reached for an application from a messy pile of papers. ?What?s your name kid??

?Goku Jr.?

?Junior, huh? That explains a lot. What about your age and fighting style??

With a cock eyed expression, Junior began to wonder his age and what the mans statement meant. ?Umm?I call it Primal fist and my age?umm..?

?Look, I don?t have all day. You look like your about?ten or something so I?m gunna put ten, ok??

?Sure??

?Alright, you don?t have a tail or anything so your not an alien. You?re on Earth so I?m gunna have to go out on a limb and say you?re from Earth?and I think that?s about it.? He said to the boy, focused only on filling out the application and making no further eye contact. ?Okay kid, you?re done here. Go to that guy over there and he?ll take care of you.? He told Junior, pointing to his right at nothing.

?There?s nothing there..? Said the confused boy.

Letting out yet another sigh and slamming his hands on the table the man screamed to his right. ?Billy, if the aliens were coming you?d be dead already.? He scowled.

?Oh yeah. Very true.? Replied the voice of an uneasy human as he rose to his feet, revealing his urine stained clothing.

?Now go to him.? Requested the attendant. Junior nodded and complied. He hovered towards the being known as Billy and awaited further command.

?Okay..umm? Muttered the scrawny man as he struggled to mount a camera on his shoulder. ?I?m going to need you to demonstrate some of your abilities for me.?

With a smirk belonging only to a warrior of arrogance spread across his face, Junior extended his right arm and placed his palm in a 90 degree angle. At first it seemed as if he had merely made the signal to stop but over time fragments of light could be seen as they fused together. Becoming a physical manifestation of the saiyan?s own spiritual energy. Then in seconds that same energy disappeared and only the hand signal for stop remained.

Knowing it wasn?t enough, Junior began to once again gather his energy but in the form of a different attack and in a different manner. This time he drew both his arms back and attempted to gather the energy at the center of his chest. The exact same light show and events occurred as before, taking the exact same amount of time it had taken before.

?Ok, looks good enough to me. See those tubes over there? Walk into one and it will take you where you need to go.?

Complying with yet another request, Junior walked towards one of the tubed structures, then into it and with a flash of luminescent lights and the humming of an engine, he was off.

?This looks like a good city, I need to relax,? Pikkon said to himself as he slowly flew back down to the ground. Landing on what looked like one of the cities main streets, he began to look around.

?What?s going on over there,? Pikkon thought to himself glancing up the street.

Four hundred metres from where Pikkon was standing a large group of people crowded around a shop window.

Pikkon now interested in what was happening walked towards the crowd.

?Hey, what?s going on here?? Pikkon asked a human from the crowd.

?Sign-ups for the new TV show Dante?s Abyss,? the human replied jumping around obviously excited.

?What the hell is Dante?s Abyss?? Pikkon asked.

?You don?t know Dante?s Abyss!!? The human shouted stepping back.

?No, what the hell is it?? Pikkon replied, thinking he was wasting his time.

?It?s a TV show where some of the strongest warriors fight each other to the death. I love watching it, it?s the coolest thing ever made,? replied the human.

A slight smirk slowly appeared on Pikkon?s face, finally something decent on this planet Earth.

Pikkon pushed his way through the crowd, and entered the shop. Before him there was a smile line of what looked liked human fighters, most of them seemed to be getting turned away. Pikkon patiently stood in line.

?Next,?

Pikkon stepped forward.

?Name??

?Pikkon,?

?Age??

?26,?

?Why do you want to enter??

?Looks like fun,?

The human asking the questions looked up,

?Well sir, you look like a strong fighter, mind showing me a few moves??

Pikkon laughed, he then slowly walked over to an empty location inside the building; the man followed holding a camera.

As the man started shooting pictures as if the film would never run out Pikkon readied into a fighting stance.

?KA-ME-HA-ME,?

The crowd suddenly fell silent and all eyes fell on the warrior Pikkon. They watched in amazement as a large ball of energy built itself up inside the cupped hands held at Pikkon?s waist.

?HAAAAAAA!? Pikkon shouted.

Pikkon?s blast sped its way through the building and collided with the back wall, exploding on impact a huge plume of dust and various building pieces flew through the sky.

As the dust settled the crowd once again roared, this time the roar was for Pikkon.

?WOW, he destroyed the entire wall!? The crowd was going crazy.

?Pathetic humans,? Pikkon said quietly to himself.

The man taking pictures had stopped after the explosion and now stood with his jaw wide open. He soon composed himself.

?Well sir, I think you will make a great addition to Dante?s Abyss. Thanks for the pictures, please follow me,? he soon said.

Pikkon followed the human they entered a small room away from the main building.

?Please enter the tele-tube sir,? The man said

Pikkon smiled and entered the tele-tube, as the soon as the door closed, he was gone.

How long had it been, he wondered as his heavy eyelids slowly cracked and forced themselves open. He had been missing from reality for some time now, fighting along side the Plain Walker, or so it was how he had remeberd. He could no longer make out what was real and what was not. Everything in his life seemed little more then a puzzle, broken into small peices, some of those peices already in place, like the fact that his own kinfolk within his own bloodline sought him out. For what reason though, he had no real answer for.

The mercenary let out a heavy huff of air as he attempted to position himself to rise. His body ached, as if it hadn't been moved for many weeks and had rusted, but the emerald warrior strained to lift his weakend body allowing his life force to pump and flow throughout himself. The cloaked warrior stared ahead, deep through the tunnel with his near penatrable eyes that were seemingly atuned to the dark light. He felt and heard his own heart rush fluids to his longed-stationary figure as he moved forward.

His senses came back to him way before the use of his skilled limbs did, and the cautious rogue stalked onward, daring any foe to cross his path as he yearned for the taste of blood. He had no idea where he was going but let his legs lead the way, through the cavern, in the direction of outside light. He had no near luck coming across anyone, except for the enemy that haunted him daily.

The sun.

The warrior squinted his eyes in pain and instincively reached to his side, producing a black mask with green slits for eyes. Silently he placed the covering over his head and looked out, the green slits allowing the humanoid slug to look around without any pain the sun or any bright lights would cause him. He stood about a mountain, towering far above a crowded city taking in the scene quietly, trying to rember how he had gotten there.

His thoughts were averted as he looked directly below him, at a curious line of what looked like fighters. A banner waved in the wind, it's lettering designed as dripping blood read 'Dantes Abyss 2007!!!' The mercenary stepped from his ledge and began his decent.

A flash of mental images passed through the aliens mind; His first fight, the first fight of the battle with 17; His first kill was a saiyan named Nappa as he betrayed him, an ally with the flick of a card; Then allying with Android 20 and Krillin; Watching Metal Koola destroy another of their allies; Also his own death, delivered by Olibu, a mere human.

The dark figure approached the lin as he touched down, passing most of those in front and pushing himself past the human in the front of the line.

"Name, Race and Skill Level sir", asked the female at the desk. The rogue looked at her from beneath his hood and mask, emitting a low growl and turned around. An orb formed in each hand, one pitch black, the other glowing white. He looked back at the pissed off faces and smirked, slamming the two together. A beam shot out in a straight beam, tearing at everyone in his way.

The mercenary gritted his teeth flexed his muscles and tried to force them together even more, the screams of pain and agony only fueled his desire to kill even more. The renegade released the orbs, his arms still weak from the cavern.

The mercenary turned about and raised his mask, showing his emerald skin, "My name, is Retane."

Everything was coming back to him.

So, against all the odds the three warriors had somehow managed to vanquish the alien menace that had laid havoc upon South City. A mere three days had passed since the epic events that had taken place in the alien hive. It was a time to rejoice, to celebrate victory and rest after the long arduous battle. But as hard as he tried to relax Sazuaa just couldn't help but ask himself, now what?

The blue skinned non-transformer walked alone down the desolate streets of South city. Sazuaa had not seen or heard of Paragus or Goku Jr since the events that transpired three days ago, it was for the best though, Sazuaa had never had that great a sense of team mentality, he was at his best fighting on his own, that?s the way it had always been and the way it would remain.

Suddenly something caught the attention of the red eyed alien, breaking his train of thought. A leaflet of some sort lay conspicuously in the middle of the road. Curious, Sazuaa casually made his way towards the mysterious leaflet and got down on one knee to pick it up.

Attention all elite warriors located in the northern quadrant. It's that time again, Dantes Abyss 2007. Match your skills up against the likes of Raditzu, last years champion, and fight to prove yourself as one of the greatest warriors in the galaxy. Only the best of the best need apply as there are only 44 open slots. Do you have what it takes to be champion?

Sazuaa raised his eyebrow as he quickly glanced through what seemed to be a leaflet advertising the new Dantes Abyss tournament.

Dantes Abyss? How could this be, it had only been afew months top, since the Dantes Abyss Conquest competition in which he had died so pitifully in at the hand of a feeble assassin. As he looked over it once again this time making an effort to read through the details, it soon became clear that it was not the same contest as Conquest, there were several quite significant differences. The main one being that in this tournament it was not mandatory to fight alongside other beings, but you could infact go it alone.

Sazuaa rose to his feet and crumbled the leaflet up in his hand. What a perfect opportunity to banish the memory of Conquest and redeem himself by spilling some blood in this new competition. There was no doubt in the non-transformers mind, with a new found vigour the blonde haired alien shot into the sky and set off in search of the nearest place where he could sign up.

***

Sazuaa landed gently on the ground in the town square of a small town just outside of South City. Just ahead of the red eyed fighter was a bespectacled man sitting behind a desk on the street corner, a large sign reading "Dantes Abyss 2007 signing up desk" was placed clearly to the mans left.

"Your name please." The attendant behind the desk asked politely.

"Sazuaa"

"Okay Saz-u-aa, may I see an example of your fighting prowess" the bespectacled man asked as he pulled out a video camera from under his desk and focused it on the blonde haired alien.

With a sigh Sazuaa complied with the mans request. The non-transformer lazily got into a fighting stance and performed a series of quick-fire punches and kicks, of which must had been a blur to the visually challenged attendant.

"Whoa..." the man said with a gulp. "Okay, you're good." The attendant clumsily re-adjusted his glasses before continuing. "Uh, but, before I let you go into the teletube, I should warn you, only forty-four of the elite, most talented fighters in the northern quadrant will be competing in the competition. And, once you've been teleported to the planet Dante there's only two ways to get back, either by getting killed, or by being the last man standing."

"..." A agitated grunt left the blue skinned aliens lips as he grew impatient.

"Very well then. The teletube which will take you to the meeting grounds on planet Dante is just to my right."

Sazuaa made no hesitation as he stepped into the teleportation device, his arms folded tightly across his chest as he waited to be sent to his destination.

"Good luck," was the last words he heard as the polite human sent Sazuaa on his way.

Snap!

A pair of tensed fingers barked as they slid against one another, and a redwood door swung open almost immediately after as a trio of uniformed figures trampled through the entryway, as if trying to reach the source of the call first. Halting at the base of a towering throne, the three subordinates took a knee, keeping their heads low and placing a right hand upon their left breast.

?Sire,? the middle one started. ?The Section Four Retrieval Squadron has returned, and Captain Grevious wishes to speak with you.? A sudden pause overcame the room; the pores upon the minion?s forehead leaked a salty liquid while his ecstatic nerves forced his limbs to convulse.

?Send him in at once,? A voice finally bloomed to life from the shady throne; the cyan-skinned keeper waved a hand, signaling for the three to take their leave, and they did so accordingly. Soon after, a newcomer entered the marble-laced room; the brute of a man donned scruffy garbs and battle-worn armaments. Unlike the triad of peons before him, this one refused to kneel, but it appeared to be of no consequence; this warrior must have been well regarded, save for his ratty choice of garments.

?How do you fare, Emperor Spice?? Grevious inquired, holding a stern posture; a mass of long golden locks flowing down his backside while a pair of beady black eyes gazed from the sockets of a pale-skinned face.

?Hmm, that does have a nice ring to it doesn?t it?? Spice replied, bringing a pondering hand to his chin. ?Ehh--Not really. Nevertheless, I highly doubt Lord Bracknell would find himself amused at your imposture.? Grevious lectured, walking closer to the throne with a friendly smirk engraved in his face.

?Yes, well, it shan?t be long now before I permanently place myself upon that royal bastion. Lord Bracknell is getting old, and with his age withers his power, both physically and authoritatively. I, Lieutenant Spice, will renew this craphole and start a new regime.? The cyan fighter gloated as he leapt down from the seat, brushing his cape from his side.

BOOM!

The room shook frantically as an echo of decimation shrieked from outside the citadel?s confines; both Spice and Grevious locked eyes before darting through the hallway. Another blast sounded, this time more violent; then another, and another. Both militants picked up speed, forced to elude falling cement boulders as chunks of the wall continuously blew off in succession. The two combatants finally reached the main archway, well, at least what used to be an archway.

?Is that--who I think it is?? murmured Grevious to his white-haired counterpart; however his inquisition fell upon deaf ears as Spice held a stone-cold expression. A massive hovercraft levitated above the jagged ground, swaying from left to right while a pair of twin fluorescent lights merged together around the two onlookers.

?The Phantom Regime, what in Bracknell?s name are they doing here?? sparked through Spice?s mind; his cape flapping rapidly against the artificial wind created by the shockwave-esque thrusters which held the abnormally large aircraft afloat.

?Now that we have your undivided attention, Lieutenant Spice, you have been formally invited to take part in this year?s undisputed event, Dante?s Abyss.? A distorted voice boomed from the metallic structure as it drew closer to his position.

?And if I decline?? retorted spice with an agitated tone; his muscles tensed while his anger rose for the sudden intrusion. ?Your participation is non debatable; you have absolutely zero consent on the matter,? a similar, yet peculiar voice intervened.

?Very well then, I shall surrender my opposition for the moment, but take heed for if deception places its grimy hands upon the situation, then you shall soon find that the dull light of vengeance can shine brighter than a mid-noon sun.? The militant spoke his final words before stepping forward; however his advancement was short-lived as a rugged hand grasped his arm before tugging him back.

?Spice, are you out of your mind? You cannot depart without proper notice, let alone leave this place in such a riot. Not to mention, this is the Phantom Regime, they cannot be trusted!? Grevious attempted to sway his comrade?s decision; but it seemed that the Makyo?s verdict was absolute. ?What? It?s not my kingdom. Besides, I think this little fiasco may aid me in further climbing the ranks of the Hierarch ladder. Do not fret, I'll be back in no time.? Spice replied, shrugging his arm from the Captain?s grip and continuing onward. The Makyo militant found himself consumed in a beam of light before vanishing into thin air.

The hovercraft lurched to the right as the rear boosters purged with flames of infernal rage, incinerating the towers beneath it as the ship was jettisoned into the darkness of space until disappearing within the cluster of stars. Captain Grevious clamped a fist and gritted his teeth, but his objective fury soon curled into a benevolent smile of encouragement.

?Hmph. Good luck, old friend.?

Tapion squinted as the rush of cold air swept across his face. His body engulfed within a blinding white aura of energy as he propelled himself across the bright skies above like a comet soaring through the atmosphere on its destructive decent down to earth. But the Konat-Jin did not descend. His body balanced itself horizontally with each of his four limbs outstretched to their maximum extent, defying every known law of gravity as he weightlessly maneuvered through puffy white clouds and the brilliant blue essence of the sky itself.

As his eagle like eyes strained to focus in on the tiny spec in the far distant horizon that upon closer inspection was in actuality his younger brother, Tapion felt a twinge of inferiority pass through his consciousness. It was almost hard to remember a time when his younger sibling hadn?t dwarfed him in every aspect of physical competition.

Mercifully, just as he was about to exist the non-transformer?s realm of vision, Minoshia suddenly halted his forward propulsion and quickly descended to the ground below. Shifting his eyes downward, Tapion gazed upon the very same sight which had caused his brother to cease a moment ago. A massive crowd, mostly made up of large overly muscled human?s buzzing with testosterone, gathered themselves around a single small wooden desk. Multiple signs and banners further clustered the sc?ne, all noticeably engraved with the same bold-texted message. ?DANTE?S ABYSS REGISTRATION!?

With a faint ?tck? that went unnoticed amongst the loud chatter of the crowd Tapion touched down onto the street?s cold concrete sidewalk. Looking up ahead he could see his brother already up at the sign up table, obviously having cut nearly two dozen angry onlookers. Minoshia?s assertiveness had always been one of his more primary characteristics, a trait which his brother unfortunately didn?t posses.

Standing now at the very end of the long snake like line, Tapion folded his arms atop his chest and began his impatient wait. Minutes seemed to pass by like hours as the seemingly unmoving line ahead barely managed to change. The annoying banter of ignorant meatheads all around occasionally tempting the growingly agitated Konat to contemplate acts of hideous self mutilation just for a momentary escape from the pain all around himself. Then just as his threshold was at its breaking point, the much appreciated words of the DA registration woman timely salvaged the last shreds of sanity within the non-transformer?s mind.

?Name??

?Tapion?? the crimson haired being quickly replied, his voice sounding more like an animal?s growl then human speech.

?Age??

?Forty-Four??

?Alright, now you?ll just need to demonstrate your strength.? The young worker spoke gingerly as she pulled a small digital camera out from under her desk and looked up at the pale skinned being before her.

?Hmm?? placing his chin between his index finger and thumb Tapion stroked his non-existent beard while trying to think of what he could do. With a quick snapping motion of his fingers the Konat-Jin?s face abruptly lit up as a light bulb flickered on in his mind.

Extending his right arm forward and facing his palm up, a small golden orb of energy quickly materialized in the being?s cupped hand. Momentarily shifting his eyes over towards the young women behind the desk and seeing her less then enthusiastic facial expression Tapion quickly exerted more energy into the ball, nearly doubling it in size.

As the orb of pure energy swirled motionlessly within his palm the non-transformer flashed a quick grin over towards the women. ?Well??? the DA worker retorted with a quick cold reply, apparently still unimpressed.

Nervously fishing through his mind for any idea to salvage his bombing audition, Tapion extended his left hand and formed an equally proportional ball of ki with that hand too. The woman now appeared slightly more intrigued, but still not impressed in the least.

Flicking his wrist gently and releasing one of the spheres of energy a few inches into the air Tapion quickly tossed the second ball into his now free hand and proceeded to catch the previously airborne orb as it descended awkwardly. For the next few moments the Konat continued his clumsy attempt at juggling, his full attention diverted towards making sure he didn?t screw up and ignorant to the humored expression on the young DA worker?s face.

?Ok, ok?that?s enough. You?re in. That was pretty funny, DA needs some more characters like you, usually we only get the show off, muscle riddled, tough guys.?

With his cheeks blushing almost as brightly as his hair, Tapion choose to only respond to the women?s inadvertently insulting comments with a slight nod of his head. He hadn't tried to be funny, he WAS trying to show off?but that didn?t really matter any more, he was accepted.

"Ey eyey. Buddy! Get back in line." came a voice from behind the crowd lined up behind the registration desk. "GaaHHhhh!" the same voice yelled in peril.

--------------------------

The clerk felt a presence of someone and lifted his head, "How may I help you?" said the clerk. The clerk was confused, he saw nobody. He then looked around and searched for the next potential participant.

Something rose from under the registration desk surprising the clerk, making him fall off his chair. The clerk climbed back up to his chair and pushed his glasses towards his eyes. "Uhhh... Uhhh... May I help you?" asked the clerk seeing a little man rise from under the the table.

"I'm here to sign up for the tournament" said the little man with a cold voice.

"Yyyyess- Offff course." the words stuttered out of the young clerk's mouth "Name?"

"Android 15"

"Age?" asked the scared young man.

"What's my name?" asked Android 15.

"Errrrrr... Android 15, sir?" said the clerk unsure of the question.

"Exactly, what do you think my age would be?"asked the Android in the same flat cold tone.

"Uhhh, sure." said the clerk, typing stuff into the computer. "And your height and weight?"

Android 15 looked down at himself, his hands extended to grab the clerk by the collar. "Are you mocking me little boy?" asked the Android.

"Oooofff Ccccourrrseee not ssssir." said the boy trembling in fear.

"Put me down as 3'6, 230 pounds." said the little man letting go of the clerk.

"Errrr, you can't lie about your weight sir..." replied the unsure clerk.

Android 15 grabbed him by the collar again. "Are you questioning me little man?" said the Android with a hint of frustration in his voice.

"I'm ssssorry ssssir, I'll put that down right away." said the clerk motioning for Android 15 to let go of him so he could work.

The Android loosened his grip and crossed his arms around his chest, looking impatient as the clerk worked away terrified.

"Um.." this time asking very very carefully "Mind if you show me some moves? Not that I doubt your ability but just to show us what you're capable of"

Android 15 smirked at the comment and tapped the edge of the table lightly.

The clerk looked carefully paying full attention as he noticed the table dented.

The Android then put his hand light on the clerks shoulder with a menacing look.

"You're good." said the clerk immediately.

The Android smiled as he turned and walked into the resting area of the registration center. He then looked down, and dug his left hand deep into his left pocket, pulling out a silver can. The Android chugged a mouthful and walked on.

((OOC: this is a continuation from the horror perfected role play.))

Janemba is still yelling as he appears in front of the human trying to get into Dante's Abyss. The human looks terrified, wondering where this being came from, and why he has chosen to appear in front of him.

" Erahhhh!" the demon tries to fire a ki blast, but to no avail. He tries again and again, but can't seem to get the human wretch out of his face.

" Why am I here you pathetic creature?" Janemba hisses out.

" I... I d...don't know.." says the human, trembling in fear of this large demon.

" Wretched cur... I should do away with your whole species....." Janemba mutters. The demon begins to eye the crowd, and the general direction there headed. Janemba turns to the human, who is still quite shaken from the whole ordeal.

" You human!" Janemba yells suddenly," Can you tell me exactly what this is?"

" Y....y..yes, it's the uh... uh..... Dante's Abyss tournament, all the powerful fighters gather and do battle in a period of days, it's rather exiting.. I was applying last year but..." the human is suddenly cut off.

" I didn't ask for a life story, but I heard you say powerful fighters?" Janemba asks.

" Yes, the strongest fighters gather here to do battle.." the human is interrupted again

" Rahahahaha!" Janmeba suddenly spurts out ," Finally it's what I've been looking for!" the demon begins to grin very sadistically.

" Well, ya, but last year I didnt get accepted, something about too weak, this year I'm trying to just watch the battles, but the sign up is just over there." the human points to the check-in stations.

"Hmmm!" the demon barely hears him throughout his joy, after hearing the instructions, Janemba tries to fly to the checkin, but gets nothing. Janemba, not to terribly angry, just takes it and begins pushing through the crowd relatively quickly

" Hey whadya think your doi.....!" " Stop shoving me you d***!" " What the F***!" the crowd begins to yell at Janemba as he shoves them aside to get to his objective.

A man wearing a white flannel shirt suddenly yells," NEXT!". Janemba rushes up and slams his fists on the table," I am next!"

" Hmm.." the human looks the demon up and down, then notices the large dents in the table left by Janemba's fists," Well you've certainly got strength, whats your name?" the human asks.

" Janemba.." the demon replies rather bluntly

"Age?" the human asks, writing the name on his sheet.

" Thirteen years, six months, and fifteen days!" Janemba responds, gaining excitement after seeing a clip from last years tournament.

" You seem older, you sure?" the human asks.

"Yes!" the demon replies angrily

" Why are you entering?" the human asks, nearly monotonously.

" I heard that there are very strong competitors, and I'm looking for a challenge!" Janemba replies.

" Good, good, so what is your fighting style?"

" I fight, thats all." replied the irritated demon.

" Well then, how bout showing us some moves?" the human asks as he points to the room with many cameras.

" My abilities are hindered, I'm not sure a perfect per..." Janemba starts but is cut off

" Ahh, yes, well thats completely normal, planetary standards and all, this tournament allows powers, and your powers will be active from the camera station and on." replies the human.

" fine..." the demon mutters.

Janemba wanders over to the room, and begins to charge up his ki.
"Dimension sword!" the creature spurts out suddenly, and many lightning fast strikes are made into the wall with his sword.

" WOAH!" the clerk, suddenly surprised at the sheer speed of the creature.

" Ki slash!" Janemba says, grinning, his blade goes in an arc, seemingly causing nothing to happen.

" Well, that was slightly less than expected, hope you didn't hurt your......" Suddenly the room shifts as the obvious extent of the damage is taken in. The room has been split in half, with one side slowly sinking.

" What was that cur!" the demon spits out.

" N...nothing sir," the human says very frightened," You're definitely accepted, to the right there are the tele-tubes, luckily you left one of them functioning.."

Janemba glares angrily at the clerk," ..."

" Yes well, be on your way!" the clerk says quickly as he backs away.

" Wretched scum" Janemba mutters as he gets transported to Dante's Abyss

(OOC: Takes place a few months after this.)

?I said I wanted cookie dough ice cream!? Paige bellowed?smacking the tub of ice cream from the android?s outstretched hands. Seventeen let out a pitiful squeak as the quart-sized container hit the tiled floor and literally exploded outward. As painful as it was to watch, the cyborg looked on as the chocolate dessert product spilled out from its plastic box and onto his brand new Vans.

?But the store was all out of cookie dough, sweetie,? the machine-hybrid whispered sheepishly as he tried to subtly knock the brown ice cream off of his fifty dollar shoes.

?You can teleport?you should have kept looking. Why don?t you love me?? Paige wailed as tears began to roll down her already puffy cheeks. Seventeen shuddered at the prospect of having to deal with another one of his girlfriend?s apocalyptic mood swings, but things could be worse, she could have turned him into a frog again. Since that day, the android had never ever told Paige the truth about her size (despite the fact that she was, at about eight months pregnant, the size of a large tent).

?Don?t cry again,? Seventeen uttered, his voice sounding as if he was on the verge of tears himself. ?I?ll go visit some other stores and see if I can?t find you anything, okay?? The android added, fabricating a broad smile even as the ice cream began to seep through the material of his shoes.

?Again?? Paige inquired as her tone began to revert back to one of spontaneous aggression. ?I?m sooo sorry that I?m such a burden on you, Seventeen!? The woman yelled. With an infantile yelp, the machine-hybrid retreated away as the room burst into flames.

After a moment or two, the flames died down and Paige let out a whimper. Before the android had an opportunity to offer his counsel, the red-haired woman blinked out of sight?leaving her estranged boyfriend standing in the middle of yet another charred room. With a defeated sigh, Seventeen exited the room in a flurry of white and purple orbs and reappeared in the lounge on the opposing side of the mansion.

?This is worse than fighting superpowered demons,? the cybernetic warrior remarked to no one in particular as he made his way toward the television set on the far side of the rustic chamber. The cyborg scooped the remote control off of the wooden countertop and kicked off his ruined shoes as yet another lethargic sigh escaped from him. He couldn?t really help it?he was starting to genuinely develop depression due to Paige and her hormonal outbursts.

Over the last few months, the woman?s outbursts had swelled in tandem with her distended stomach. The worst part about the pregnancy was the fact that Paige was powerful enough to bend the fabric of reality if she set her mind to it. That meant that her outbursts usually ended with either the mansion in rubble or Seventeen as some type of lesser animal. The only real hope that the android had to cling to was the wonderful fact that Paige was due in less than two weeks.

?What?s on the tube?? Seventeen questioned as he flopped down on one of the mahogany chairs that abounded the lounge. With a simple click, the machine-hybrid reclined back and waited as the television set hummed to life. Once it had, the cybernetic warrior was treated to the credits of the only program he enjoyed watching. ?I hate my luck,? the android grumbled as he prepared to turn off the television, but before he got the opportunity, a familiar voice stopped him in his tracks.

?Karl Jak here folks, and it?s that time of the year again!? As the machine-hybrid watched in awe, a montage of scenes from last year?s Dante?s Abyss tournament shot across the screen. Seventeen smiled faintly when he saw a short clip of his battle with Minoshia illuminate his television set. ?Dante?s Abyss has arrived! Make sure to sign up a registration station near you, and maybe this will be your lucky year!?

With that, the commercial drew to a close as a series of corporate jargon flashed across the screen. They were all disclaimers about the danger and so forth associated with the contest?the stuff that no one bothers to read before enlisting in the competition. Seventeen was guilty of doing just that, but this time around, he didn?t really care. After all, the only reason he had lost last year was because he had been too absorbed in helping others.

The same thing had happened in Conquest, when the android was struck down whilst trying to assist Super Buu. With a smile on his face, the machine-hybrid dashed over to the nearby freezer unit and pulled out a tub of cookie dough ice cream from beneath the machine?s false bottom. Just as he was finishing the note, the android was interrupted by the voice of his girlfriend.

?Dante?s Abyss, eh?? The woman?s voice sent a shiver down the cybernetic warrior?s spine as he cursed beneath his breath.

?I got you the ice cream,? Seventeen said, turning around and pointing to the tub of ice cream. ?I promise I?ll be back in under a week or so, punkin. It?s only fo??

?If you?re not back before our child is born then I?m going to go to Dante and murder you myself,? the woman said with the utmost seriousness. The cyborg smile faintly and quickly made his exit before another mood swing had the chance to put him back in his shackles. A few miles away, Seventeen rematerialized in front of a large booth erected near the center of an active street. Pushing through the crowd, the android gently placed his hands on the countertop and smiled at one of the numerous attendants.

?Name?? A woman asked, tapping her pen impatiently on her clipboard as she stared at the android.

?Seventeen,? the cybernetic warrior replied. The registration agent nodded her hand and began to scribble down some additional information about the machine-hybrid?s general appearance.

?We?re going to need you to display some moves for you camera,? the woman replied, sounding obviously enthralled by having to deal with so many people all day long.

?I?ve competed in two of these productions before this one,? Seventeen responded. ?Do I really need to sit and give my paw for the camera yet another time? I?m sure that the viewers and producers should recall me at least somewhat. I?m the one who got into the fights with Minoshia,? the cyborg added, placing a hand on his chest as he tried to weasel his way out of wasting more time.

?I?m sorry sir, but this is necessary,? the woman answered rudely.

?Fine,? the cybernetic warrior groaned, pushing away from the desk and closing his eyes. There was a beat of silence, and then the android let out a frustrated shout as an aura of ki surged to life around his lithe frame. Opening his eyes, Seventeen opened up his palms and smiled as the energy poured forth?rocketing from his hands and slamming into the ground around him.

Shouts filled the city block as the other potential contestants were thrown here, there, and everywhere by the force of the blast. Once the dust and debris had settled, the android flashed a smile to the attendant and began to laugh playfully at the shock on her face. She began to stammer in an effort to respond to the machine-hybrid?s display, but after a few seconds of senseless babbling, she simply stamped the android?s form.

?Step into the teleportation tube over there,? the attendant said as she fed the paper into a fax machine. ?That will take you to Planet Dante where you can relax as they pick the rest of the tournament cast.?

?Thank you,? Seventeen said calmly as he strode over to the tube and casually slid into the glass apparatus. Closing his eyes, he listened as the devise began to hum to life around him. This time around he was going to play the game for himself and only himself. He was done with the days where he had to worry about babysitting four or five of his friends.

This Dante?s Abyss would be his?one way or another.

With that, Seventeen vanished in a flash of light.

The sign up booths were chaotic with activity. Fighters streamed towards the audition tables while hoards of spectators enjoyed the pre-game events lining the extensive midway. The Midnight Rising landed with a giant banner on each wing displaying what looked like a yellow sunburst on a red field. Some of the onlookers who were CNN junkies recognized the standard of the Regulators and flocked to the barriers around the landing pad. A chorus of jack boots marching in step accompanied the figures that exited the hatch in the side of the jet black transport ship.

Two Arlians wearing brilliantly polished red and gold uniforms came out first, the same sunburst like design on tabards worn over their chest, and four identically adorned soldiers behind a very tall hairless human wearing black pants and a black cloak over a bare torso.

?It?s Yamu! YAMU!? Someone in the crowd screamed as the massive warrior marched towards the sign up accompanied by his escort. He gave the crowd a wave as more shouts broke out,

?We loved you last year!?

?You rocked in Dragon Kart, man!?

?Going to keep a better map this time??

Yamu laughed at the last one and shook a few hands as he swept through the crowd, a bubble being forced around the soldiers marching in lock step. The ebony eyed warrior finally made it to the table, where a very frightened young woman took his information.

?N-name please??

?Yamu the Conqueror. I?m returning from last year.?

?Oh?good we have all your physical information on our database already?so you won?t have to redo that but?I do need another set of photos and video coverage of your fighting abilities?is-is that ok??

?Hmm?? The vein covered juggernaut surveyed the sign up area finding a tailed warrior at a table nearby. ?The video is supposed to show off our fighting prowess, eh??

?Yes, sir.?

Yamu leapt in a crimson flash of Kaioken across the crowded thoroughfare pushing a strong breeze with him that almost blew some of the spectators down. The camera operator rushed after him, spinning his lens quickly into focus. A red tinted overhand right collided with the unknown Saiya-Jin?s chin, making his jaw crack loud enough for the camera to pick up. The tailed fighter spun over the table causing screams from the workers and fans alike as they scattered to get out of the way. Blood pouring from his mouth that dark haired warrior pounced in a counter strike his hands curled into claws. Yamu shifted side to side dodging the powerful but slow blows until he saw an opening. With lighting speed he drilled a knee under an incoming punch and deep into the other contestant?s midsection. He pointed his right index finger directly above the back of the Saiya-Jin?s head as he lay curled around his thigh, ?Shotgun.?

The armored warrior spun from the immense concussive blast and remained motionless but alive on his back on the ground. Yamu placed his leg on top of the man?s heaving chest and flexed his tree trunk sized bicep as he looked into the camera, ?There?s your still frame.?

Raspberry walked in the city chilling with the sun burning and the wind breezing in his face, he smiled as it was the best day of his life. He went past a building with a long line of strong looking people.

?What?s going on,? Raspberry mumbled for himself.

The grotor-jin walked to the end of the line and asked people about what was going on, but people just pushed him aside. The reptile was getting furious about how people behave, he walked to the forests and started do some survival training. Rasp was hunting his food for once, if there would come sometime a day when he would need them. He used a small survival knife to hunt a build traps and such.

?I hope I?m not doing this for nothing... There will come a time when I need this, I just can feel it,? The partial crocodile thought for himself, as he started to remember the times in his youth on the grotor-jin planet, where everyone hunted they?re food for survival. He was respecting the way of his races way of life.

He ran in the forest training his fighting on some trees and doing some new nice combo moves. He was wanting a really though challenge this time... He started jumping on the tree tops and suddenly he noticed someone spying on him, he quickly jumped into the leaves of the tree making some camouflage so that the spy could not see him. As the human turned the reptilian was behind her back holding his survival knife by her throat.

?Why are you here?? The warrior asked while glaring around for more people.

?I was just looking at your skills, you?re quite a fighter... Now could you take your smelly arm away from me?? The woman ?spy? said.

The grotor-jin let go of the woman and started to chat more about why she was looking at his moves, and skills.
?So you?re inviting me to some thing called Dante Abyss 2007, because pf my skills?? Raspberry asked and the woman nodded to his question.

?Shall we go? She asked and they started to walk towards the city.

Without a clue what Dante Abyss was Raspberry accepted her call, was it a stupid call or a wise one?

The red fighter found himself in a familiar area, a large building with lines of bulky men flooding out the doors. The last time he saw something like this, it was to register to fight in a war. He stood motionless, as the acts of violence zipped through his thoughts, with the final picture of pressing a small button and killing himself. In that time, he didn?t want anything to do with senseless acts of violence, but now, he wanted to test his skill and techniques against those who were of equal stature. There was still the sense of remorse for the innocents who?s lives he had taken, and he would stay true to his vow to never senselessly kill again, but as long as he was killing other soldiers it wasn?t senseless.

A large sense of hesitance overwhelmed his body as he began to walk towards the building, pushing men out of his way to get to the front of the line. Grunts of aggravation of the red fighter?s acts filled the air. Once inside, it was how it was last time. Rows of registration desks and attendants with clipboards approaching men who were just standing around, brightly lit by rows upon rows of florescent lights, and in the back a long line of teletubes rested against the wall.

Jeice slowly walked to a registration desk, moving in front of people in line and waited for the man already being helped to finish. Within seconds, the man walked away with a folded piece of paper and headed towards the teletubes.

?Hello sir?are you signing up?? The squeaky voice of the attendant cracked through the red fighter?s ears.

?Yeah, I am.? He replied in a monotone voice.

?Ok then, you?ll need to fill this out.? The man replied as he held out a form and a pencil.

Jeice snatched the paper out of his hand and quickly reviewed it, filling out all of the questions about his basic information, his name, age, height, weight, the usual personal questions. He quickly finished and handed the paper back to the young man behind the desk.

?Ok, just step right this way, we?re going to need you to display your abilities and take some pictures to match a face to your information?right here, sir.? He moved Jeice into a highlighted square. ?Ok, now just stand up straight and?? A blinding flash made the red fighter tightly squint. ?Ok, perfect, now just show me some of your abilities.?

The red fighter dropped down to a low stance and began focusing his energy. A bright red aura busted from his body and engulfed him. He stood upright and pointed his hand at the man?s desk. A small ki orb form in front of his palm, and the red fighter lightly tossed it into the mans desk, completely destroying it.

?You mean something like that?? Jeice asked.

?Yes, sir, that will be fine. Here is your form, just go to the back of the room and step through one of the vacant teletubes.

Jeice quickly started walking to the back of the room, and hopped into the nearest empty teletube. He felt his body dematerialize and materialize, in seconds he was at the meeting grounds. There was no turning back now, he would have to live out his decision.

Something was summoning Metal Koola away from his current mission. He didn't really feel like abandoning what he was doing so early into it, but something else was driving him back to Vegeta. What was it? He stood in front ofSomething was summoning Metal Koola away from his current mission. He didn't really feel like abandoning what he was doing so early into it, but something else was driving him back to Vegeta. What was it? He stood in front of the large doors that stood in his way of learning a new ability. He wanted to press onward, but he kept feeling a reason to go back.

That?s it! He finally locked onto it. Dante?s Abyss signups were going on. How had he not sensed this earlier!? This was his chance to make up for the horrible experience he had last time. Dying so easily so fast? that wasn?t acceptable in the least. Now was his chance to turn things around and actually win the tournament like he had done so many years back. He was so there!

Touching his hand to the teleportation belt he spoke the necessary command and motioned for Cargo to join him. ?I?m leaving, you can make up your mind real quick.? And with that Metal Koola flashed off of the planet.

?Who?s next?? the attendant asked, summoning the next person in line to step forward. In a flash, MK appeared in the front of the line, cutting everyone off. The man behind him tripped over his metallic tail and the changeling flicked his foot back, knocking the fallen warrior completely out of the line.

?The name?s Metal Koola, I?ll be winning the tournament this year.? He smirked and crossed his arms as the attendant took down the androids name and information.

?Step that way sir, the tournament will begin rather shortly. You certainly cut the deadline close!? He handed MK a nametag and showed him over to the waiting area. This was going to be a fight to remember, the changeling was going to make sure of it.

Hovering in the air above Central City, Reijin scanned the buildingtops in hope of finding some sign regarding the Dante's Abyss signups. Towards the east, a large flash of energy was dampened by his LENS unit, catching his attention. Shrugging slightly, he flew down to land on the top of one of the towers and walked over to the edge. Cars were moving along at a slow pace beneath him, but he could follow a trail of dissappearing energy through the air between the buildings until he saw it creep into a doorway.

"They should really try a bit harder to ann-" he began to say to Saiba, who was still tucked into his bag. About that moment, a loudspeaker interrupted the Saiyan's thoughts and rattled his brain.

"THE TIME IS NOW! COME ONE, COME ALL, COME BIG, COME SMALL! FLIGHT IS DISABLED, ENERGY IS DAMPENED, THE CARNAGE IS INCREASED, AND THE BLOOD SHALL RUN RAMPANT!"

He heard a chuckling sound from his backside and he grunted. "Yeah, I get it. Let's go," he announced, leaping off the top of the building. His body hurtled down at the speed of a meteor, his eyes moving quickly as he picked out the various pedestrians, warming up his mind for the upcoming tournament by taking care to not crush anyone during his landing. Thrusting down a cushion of air using ki, he flipped in the air, his feet stopping suddenly on the concrete without creating a crater. He rose, fully adjusted himself, and walked into the building.

The rush of air from inside the doorways caught him a bit off guard as his body attempted to drastically adjust to the change in pressure. His eyes wandered throughout the busy room and he pushed through the crowd of walking corpses on his way to the signup desk. One of the hopefuls was standing at the front desk, nervously twiddling a pen within his fingers as he glanced around the room. Reijin chuckled. "Hey Saiba, check this out," he called to the pet. The creature climbed up onto his shoulder and looked in front of him as the man turned around at the noise, jumping in fright to see the creature so close.

His hand stopped spinning the pen as it came to rest over his chest, trying to calm himself. He held his hand up in the air and began to talk as it came down to rest on Reijin's shoulder. "Oh god, man, you scared me. Dude, what is that thing?" he spoke quickly, trying to calm down his breath.

Reijin's brow rose as he glanced down at the arm before reaching up and brushing it to the side. "I don't think you are cut out for this," he rejected the man. Before the man could finish attempting to defend himself, he was found to be cut off once more. "Listen, you just don't have what it takes. You weigh... what... 115?" he asked, looking the man up and down. "I know you probably think you are the top of your karate class or whatever, but this is a place where you are going to find your best friend turning around and pulling one directly... through... your... Brain." he annunciated each word by tapping on the man's forehead with a gloved finger. Withdrawing his hand, he whiped the sweat off it before pushing the man aside. "Look kid, beat it. Save yourself the trauma of experiencing a death."

He reached down and grabbed the man's half filled signup sheet and crumpled it up, tossing it in the trashcan nearby. "Ok, where's that writing utensil. I'm on it this time. I have this covered. I can do this!" he laughed, having practiced his pensmanship a bit before he left for here. The lady glanced up at him a moment before smiling.

"Reijin. We recognize you from your remarkable performance during our last event. We even have a doll of you and the Grand Champion of Dante's Abyss, Raditzu. They are waiting for you in the other room." She immediately reached around him to take another fighter's application and didn't return a glance at him.

A drop of sweat ran down his cheek as he slammed his palm down. He completely ignored the jab regarding his loss at the top and cut to the chase. "You mean you aren't going to make me prove to you that I can write my name?"

Her eyes took a weirded out look as they gazed back at him. "Um... no? You are a capable fighter, and we already have the information in the computer from last year. Unless you've changed sexes since then, there's nothing we need to know."

The raven haired youth couldn't help but be exasperated. "But... but... I can write my own name! I CAN WRITE MY NAME WITH YOUR PRIMATIVE TOOLS!" he exclaimed proudly.

"That's... great. You are welcome to write your name in the other room on a sheet of paper about fifty times, but we already have that information. You are in."

Moments later, Reijin was walking towards the back room grumbling about how the workers here had no appreciation for hard work and preperation.

Bone splintered and cracked under the force of Vegeta?s fist. The mailman had intruded upon his training session, it was never good to be between a saiyajin and his desire to conquer all inferior life. The mailman stammered through disbelief as blood trickled down from his nose.

?What..! I just.. just was supposed to bring this letter!? His eyes had expanded to the size of small melons. In his hand he held out a fancy gilded envelope. The return address belonged to some corporation that looked barely familiar to the sayiajin prince. Vegeta tore the fancy binding apart and slid the letter out. ?You?ve been invited! Please join us for Dante?s Abyss!? He stroked his chin, puzzled. It had been years since he had competed in this competition, it really is true you can never escape a mailing list.

The tall saiyajin?s head snapped back to the mailman, who was sitting in the grass bleeding on himself. ?Get out of here before I change my mind.? Vegeta grabbed his scattered belongings and left the human to tend to his broken nose. He had returned to Earth in search of a few former comrades, good help is so hard to find, and if there was an intergalactic tournament about to take place? well, that would be a good place to start.

The Prince glanced around at his location before taking two quick steps and leaping into the air, displacing clouds as he burst towards a Dante?s signup station obnoxiously announcing it?s existence. He landed with a dull thud, pushing self-proclaimed karate masters and masked wrestlers aside and continuing through the line. Apparently waiting in line is not a saiyan custom. Many barely trained receptionists were entering contestants information into their computers, frantically typing records of anyone who?d ever been in a bar fight and were still drunk or stupid enough to enter Dante?s Abyss for the prize money. Vegeta snatched a baseball cap off the head of a shorter man waiting in line, and pulled it down on his head. It was a snug fit, and not much of a disguise when everyone who mattered could sense his inner energy in a crowd anyways. He knew he could always destroy all of the surrounding spectators if he needed to gather the attention of every ki infused fighter in the area. Against his preference the prince decided to play it quiet for the time being.

Vegeta made it to the front of the line, where they were processing applications for Dante?s Abyss, he hadn?t filled the forms out, paperwork was not his strong suit, luckily a man in dark glasses approached as he arrived at the counter. ?Ah? you?re Vegeta? We were hoping you?d come. Right this way.? The Prince smirked and followed him into the building.

There wasn't much to say at this point, things had been going as they were expected, as they were constructed and as they were planned. You entered the room, stood in line like a chicken walking to slaughter, signed up all your personal information (which, in the right hands, could probably leave you a victim of identify theft) walked and waited some more, and then were released into a 'holding pen' where you waited for your turn to get your head smashed in, ripped off or blown up. T'was the majestic circle of life, it was. At least, it was when you were part of one of several races that seemed to make a habit out of having blood shed more often then tears. Murder and violence was about as common place in the Saiyan history books as..well...pages in the Saiyan history books. One would be hard pressed to find a page that didn't have 'murder' 'war' or 'violence' on it one, or multiple times.

This wasn't something most people would be proud of about their heritage, to be descended from what most would call 'barbarians' or 'animals', but Kollifum knew otherwise. To be part of such a history and survive, persevere, evolve to the point where such a pastime was no more then a daily exercise. To them, enemy battalions were simply local neighbor kids pulling pranks whom needed a firm smack on the ass and to be sent home crying. Yeah, he hated the military, everyone who knew him knew it, despite the fact he was wearing an augmentation of their armor, and had one of their weapons, that was all they shared. The morals, the ideals, the concept of invading instead of defending your own home, it was where they fell apart. He was all for these sorts of contests, where everyone knew what they were getting into, they all knew the risks, put themselves there willingly, but when a bunch of heavily armed, well trained military men blast a civilian settlement from orbit because they SUSPECT enemy troops may be hiding there? That wasn't something he would ever want to be a part of. Which was why he was here, to get his mind off those issues, to enjoy himself with some mind numbing violence. It worked most of the time, anyways.

He stood in the line, his tail twitching with a hint of impatience swagger, he wasn't one to stand still for long and it drove him nuts at tournaments. Forced to sit on the side lines and watch people beat each other senseless for a good hour before getting in the ring for maybe a total of ten minutes, rinse and repeat. Tournaments were a patient man's war, and Kol had patience, but not when it came to war. The line snaked along like an inch worm trapped in a pool of tar, slowly and painfully. His fingers twitched at his sides like he was starving and this was the line up to the cafeteria, and on some level, that was probably true. He rolled his shoulder, and the joint popped and cracked lightly as he moved forward one more space. This was almost like an exercise. To know how to restrain your aggression until it was appropriate. In something like this, letting fury get the best of you and taking it out on anything that moves may be an appropriate response for some fighters, but not the ones that don't want to be taken out first shot of the day.

He knew he wasn't the biggest fish in this competition, and odds are, he wouldn't make it to the finals. The returning runner up, and more then likely the champion were returning and would probably have a repeat of last year. He'd be lucky if he made it into the top twenty, really, and wasn't killed along with a small group in some faceless miniature mass murder. But damn it all, he wasn't going to take that long walk into the night quietly, he wasn't going to go without a fight, or a sound. He'd go down swinging, tearing, gnashing. If it came down to it, he'd bite if he god damn well had to. It was the way he had grown, the way he had brought himself up without a family, to claw and scrape for every scrap of food, and belongings you had. There were just two of them now, he and his sister, and no one to have protect them as they grew save for each other. They had to be strong, stronger then anyone else their age, stronger then anyone else they knew, anyone could turn on them at any time and all they had to depend on was one another. It was their way of living, their little clan and it would survive.

A fight is not won by one punch or kick. Either learn to endure or hire a bodyguard. Forget about winning and losing; forget about pride and pain. Let your opponent graze your skin and you smash into his flesh; let him smash into your flesh and you fracture his bones; let him fracture your bones and you take his life. Do not be concerned with escaping safely, lay your life before him. This was how he lived, and this is how he would fight. Safety was always an illusion, one could die at any given moment at any given day. And while he had the goal of winning, a goal is not always meant to be reached, it often serves simply as something to aim at. His skin goose bumped and he moved forward another step. He could see the counter now, only two more entrants to go. His tail rippled with excitement, and his arms at his sides would twitch their fingers. It had been too long since he'd been in a position where he was fighting to stay alive in place of fighting to win. That sort of fighting, there was no comparison for it. No replacement.

The line moved again, it seemed to be going faster now, or maybe his mind was just over active and making it seem that way, but no matter the case, he was one man away from signing away his life. And he couldn't be more ready, willing or able. He patted his side, where the ki rifle he had gained not so long ago resided. A fight like this, stamina could be a victory giving factor, and using artificial weaponry to fire off his ki instead of his own reserves could be an enormous advantage. If...it was allowed. When you fight, if it is a real fight, use every tool that you have, use your whole body. Use your fists, your legs, your fingers, your head if you have to, and hit them in every vulnerable spot, the balls, the eyes to win. A weapon in a war should be no different then a fist, but for some folks, this wasn't true.

As the last man finished his registration, Kollifum rose to the call, and placed his hand down to take the page from the receptionist. His hand almost snapping one of the pens in half as he forced his name down across the page in a manner that resembled over stimulated chicken scratch. "...There!" He barked, slamming the pen down onto the table, actually splintering it this time, ink oozing into a pool where he had left the remains of the writing utensil. As he placed his hand back to his side, he moved to leave, taking his first stride. But a less then caring, more so agitated throat being cleared caused him to slow. Damnit. What now? As he turned, the receptionist pointed at his ki rifle. "I'm sorry sir, but personal weapons will not be permitted for this tournament." She responded almost like a recording, with pre-scripted lines and tones.

The Saiyan blinked, once, then looked down to his weapon. His jaw locked as he clamped his hand down over it, yanking it from the hilt at his side. "...Woman." He spoke flatly, placing it on the counter in front of her, making sure to keep it out of range of the ink that was slowly enveloping it's corner of the surface. "...even if I die, I want this weapon buried with me...understand?" He explained to her with the most restraint he could muster. Things, even death, had a way of being undone, and it would royally piss him off to find out some ass had gone and sold his weapon after he had died. Life seemed to come and go a lot easier then a weapon like this. "....understand?" He asked again, getting only a nod in response. Pressing his index finger down to the weapon, he spoke again. "...say it, so I know you heard me."

"Even if you die, we'll see to it that the weapon is buried with whatever remains of your corpse." She repeated, placing her hand onto the butt of the weapon. Kol withdrew his hand as she did and turned on his heal, facing the entrance to the back rooms he placed his hand to the mess of hair behind his head and twisted a length of elastic around it, bunching it behind him. His tail erect and almost rigid, his stride hiding how much his nerves were on edge. "....practically like my last will and testament." He mumbled, vision locked on that of the elevator. Barracks, more like a cage for the lions. He let out a little flick of his tail before walking towards the lift in question, and sighed. Knowing is not enough, you must apply; willing is not enough, you must do. Words to live by, and he intended to do just that.
The right to swing my fist ends where the other man's nose begins.

The Life and Times of Bulma Briefs

It was a dejavu of last year?s signups, as the paparazzi rushed towards the beautiful young woman like a pack of scavenging vultures. ?Doctor Brief?s, is the war over?? She walked on straight, not even bothering to pay any camera or anything to do with the pack of long necked birds any attention. ?Where did you get that fabulous outfit?? How ironic that she did not intend to answer them, but all of a sudden when the topic came to fashion, she would gladly respond. ?My former mentor made it for me,? she replied, turning around, and then proudly turning back, continuing her destination towards the short queue of warriors. Most people had already signed up.

The annoying group of people continued to follow. ?Listen and listen good. I?m not here to answer anymore questions. I?m here to fight and win, simple.? Still they pounded with questions. Taking matters into her own hands, she used her spiritual energy to cause every camera to break. Again, a dejavu of last year?s event.

?What happened?? came a bundle of voices. Problem solved. That was enough to keep them all occupied. Now they would leave her be.

Her time had finally come, once again. ?Your name?? asked the male attendant.

?I find it very insulting that you do not know my name.?

?Oh that?s right, you?re Bulma Brief?s.? The woman raised her eyebrow, a traditional trait of hers to show irritation, or more often, when she was about to make a witty remark. How dense could a member of staff be though? ?Another Brief?s signed up earlier. She goes by the name of Bra Brief?s. You resemble each other greatly. Family no doubt.?

?Yes.?

?Your daughter??

?Yes.?

?I bet you can?t wait to ally up with her if you make it.?

?You mean when I make it, you nitwit. How dare you bring that kind of insult upon me. Do you have any idea who I am or what I?m capable of doing??

?Uh-uh-uh, I?m sorry ma?am,? he said, humbly.

?Do you have a speech impediment?? she asked, in response to his stuttering.

?No ma?am. Sorry ma?am. I just wanted to know??

? If I enter, I will kill her.?

?Oh...I thought you?d want to ally up with your daughter, that?s all. It?s not as if the deaths are real anyway.?

?Real or fake, I don?t care. I almost killed my own mother earlier on and I had no regrets. Anymore questions you?d like to ask concerning the girl? Or should I discuss my mother with you?? He had no more questions on that topic, only stared at the woman in horror. What kind of human being was she? He gulped and then proceeded to further questions, hairy legs wobbling under his desk. She looked down underneath, the realisation brought a smile to her face. ?Did you wet yourself??

?No ma?am.?

?Are you potty trained??

?Yes ma?am. I mean no ma?am.? He had just realised it was a trick question, falling into her trap.

?Age?? he asked, timorously.

?Thirty-three.? He refrained from telling her how young she looked for her age, for safety precautions. The Bulma he had heard about was kind hearted and warm, not sinister and a bully, like the woman before him. The woman before him would kill her own family. He shuddered.

?Um, follow the booth behind me, it is-?

?I can take it from here,? she told him, and then made her way to the booth. The photogenic girl gave a natural, good pose, as she was snapped. The picture was perfect, as usual.

?You?re a natural,? the French photographer told her. ?Oh wee, I remember you from last year. You?re,? he said, snapping his fingers, ?fabulous. And that outfit, classy.?

?Why thank you,? she smiled.

?I?ll need to see a sample of your fighting skills,? said another voice, a more masculine tone.

?I?ll try out my newest technique,? she replied stepping out the booth with the chubby man. Raising a palm above her, she formed a tennis-sized ball of light. It rose up into the sky, and then suddenly expanded. ?The sun!? a voice yelled out.

?Not quite,? she answered, taking off towards the light source. Once she positioned herself in front of it, she placed her hands by the sides of her face, spreading her fingers apart. ?SOLAR FLARE!? she roared out. The highly concentrated amount of light, blinded everyone in the signups area. She laughed heavily, due to their screams of, ?my eyes!? others yelling, ?oh it burns!?

?Should have closed your eyes. Oh wait, I didn?t warn them,? she let out, knowing full well she had no intentions of forewarning anyone.
