So far I've seen: Village NPCs, Fire Slimes, Swampy biomes with lily pads, nether bricks, nether fences, nether wart and player constructed snow golems. Anything I'm missing!?

So if we're gonna have a server currency I think it should be COOKIES.

Here are reasons why I'm right:
1. They are rare but easy to manufacture.
2. They are practically useless otherwise.
3. They are fucking COOKIES, and using them as currency sounds AMAZING.

You don't want a currency to be rare-but-expansible; you want a currency to be fixed.

We should pick something that can be traded (thrown down and picked up), but cannot be discovered or crafted through legitimate means. Chain armor helmets would work

EDIT: And too, Notch has said he intends to make cocoa farm-able, which would devastate a cookie-based economy

There's also a flying fire tornado looking mob in the nether that shoots at you and drops some kind of rod that I haven't caught the name of yet.

The nether fortresses look awesome, as well.

For on how portals work and why it's pretty fucking economical to build netherrails. they use 1/8th the material.

What do you mean a "Node System?" I'm unfamiliar with the term.

Nodes as in, running lines out to centralized stations-of-sorts, rather than running a direct line to every single person's place. If there are three people within 500 square-blocks of one another, it's probably better to run a single station out to the middle of them, and have people walk the remaining 250-or-so blocks, rather than bothering with all the time of running direct lines.
