I threw up though... I've heard that happens to some people when they mix "lights and darks". What are the tips for that, other than "dont fucking do it".

I think the key to not feeling like shit/throwing up/hiccuping (as someone who for years would get really painful hiccups for hours every time I got drunk, which made it pretty difficult to go out with friends) is to not fill up your stomach with gassy shit. Shots rarely make me throw up, whereas beer and drinking too much coke with my spirits will. Hence I tend to stick to doubles if I feel like getting drunk. Of course, you're still gonna throw up if you drink fast enough, but I've never done so whilst sticking to these rules.

Drinking on a full stomach slows the absorption of alcohol but if you drink too much you'll just have more to puke up.

You just gotta fuck it up a few times and learn your limit.
