Mass Effect 3 multiplayer

I've done a couple different things with my Drell. Mostly I run just shotgun. I'll Shotgun + the rare pistol if I use the rapid-fire shotty (I don't remember any of these names).

Kind of liked taking A Rifle with the Shuriken. I absolutely hate the Shuriken 90% of the time, but when you're in someone's face a six-round burst > melee is pretty devastating.

i just found out that you can headshot guardians through the viewport on their shields. every time i get em with my mantis i feel like muthafukin rambo

anybody else randomly losing equipment? i know i've been stockpiling armor-piercing ammo and assault rifle rail upgrades, but they're disappearing. lame.

only got my infiltrator class to go before i reach N7 120. unlocked the salarian a while ago, his proxy mine is cooldown based rather than finite like grenades. i hope its effective because i maxed it out, if it turns out to be trash like grenades i will be pissed.

has anybody unlocked secondary humans or aliens yet? all ive done is unlock the first alien in each class, and i'm guessing that the others are reserved for the full retail version

I read that the secondary aliens are locked. I assumed the secondary humans would be unlockable, but haven't seen anyone playing as anything other than the gender you start with, so I'm thinking they're locked.

Also wtf grenades are awesome. They give you an actual reason to use ammo packs and do quite a bit of damage. The Cluster Grenade was fairly bad until I got "+1 Shrapnel" and then they were amazing. Frag Grenade just does stupid amounts of damage.

Only seen one Salarian use the mine and I was impressed by it, though it was Bronze so I don't know how much that tells you.

i use ammo packs, but i still have fewer grenades than i want. especially when 3-4 phantoms show up in waves 7-9. sometimes i have to use my rocket launcher to deal with them if i'm playing human soldier or drell vanguard and then confronting atlases during evac becomes a serious issue.

it'd be better if grenades used a cooldown like in me2. even a long cooldown wouldn't be as bad as running to the nearest ammo depot and finding out that it's already been raided.

in other news, i've maxed the semiautomatic sniper rifle (viper) so it weights less than the mantis and does respectable damage. i'm starting to get excited about infiltrator, i always wanted to run around with an invisibility cloak. should be fun

Yeah, Grenades would be a lot better if they had cooldowns. I see what they were going for with the way they have it, but it still feels like they're just restricted for not a ton of gain (they do do a lot of damage).

I actually like the mechanic a lot more on the Vanguard. It fits that "charge in and immediately do something" theme that the Vanguards pretty much have to have. Alternatively you can also 'nade and then immediately charge and watch people get launched all over the place.

Do you find that Human Soldier is lacking compared to some of the other classes? He seems so weak by comparison to every other class I've played.

Soldier definitely needs the varied ammo types to be as effective as the others, I find and even then the others can just use the same.

yeah, he's more dependant on his weapon than anyone and most guns are relatively weak. the other classes get by on overpowered abilities or damage buffs, but frag grenade is the soldier's strongest power (1500~ damage max) and it's severely limited.

a few simple things could fix this. instead of preset dpad items, if you could select them and put ammo clips on 3/4 of them then soldier would be killer; cooldown grenades instead of numbered; no cooldown on ammo depots for grenades. it's like they've purposefully sabotaged the guy. still my favorite, though, and his other two skills are great

The Assault rifles are so sad. The one thing that was great about soldier was his ability to equip all weapons, slow down time, and use numerous ammo powers.

But they threw that out the door.

So far I find Asari Adept to be the most broken beast in this game.

I like the Assault Rifles. Their damage is a little lackluster, but being able to boost it with Adrenaline Rush makes them pretty sick. A Rushed Revnant is quite good, imo.

I dunno, Adrenaline rush just doesn't seem as good to me as Concussion Shot with that I can pretty much solo Phantoms easy by spamming it like the Asari Adept throw and spraying them down with Tempest.

grrr. i sweat, the game barely froze before the other day. now that my last class has reached level 19 most of my games end with me having to manually shut my ps3 off. i sweat, this kind of thing never happened with republicans were in the white house

i will soldier on, though. maybe it's just the infiltrator class. just a few more completed games and i'll never touch them again.

finally unlocked the widow sniper rifle.

eh. sure, it's powerful but if you dont get the kill in one hit (unlikely on gold) then it takes about ten seconds to kill something and for most of that time you are vulnerable to being flanked. what really makes it awful is that carrying the widow alone essentially doubles an infiltrator's cooldown on all abilities compared to the viper.

still, i had a great test match on gold with it. made it to the infamous wave 7, at which point there were just too many atlases and phantoms for the team to deal with. i ended up using my last rocket just to kill two phantoms, it was that bad

Yeah, the Widow didn't impress me for that exact reason. It's so heavy that you can't rely on powers, really, and the reload is so long that if you miss (or at least miss whatever poses the immediate threat) you're just dead.

Primarily saw it on Asari Adepts (still never unlocked that, wtf) because they could Stasis > Headshot and that seems like a requirement for it. If you can't guarantee that shot, it's not worth using.

Still no Asari? Over the weekend Bioware relented to the complaints about their unlock rates and changed Vet packs to give a silver or gold card on every purchase. The change will carry over to the retail version. I think I made the last thread on their forum about it before the change was made :B

What they should have done is make Vet packs 15,000, and then a third tier pack that was 30,000 and guaranteed one gold or silver card.
