According to imdb different studios and different special effect studios for each. I still contend it's the exclusive blue screen shooting that gives it that look, but intent to remain true to the Frank Miller's comic books does have something to do with.

Good movie.

Never read the comic book, but it actually seemed to fit pretty good with the history. Loved the Spartans and the Persians.

Oh my lord it was amazing.

Those nipples were fucking ridiculous, they blew my mind.

It was so EPIC, and yeah somebody said something about how they liked the stop-motion kind of stuff, I love that stuff also and it was just WOOOOOO and yeah. I enjoyed.
