I'm just giving Tom the benefit of the doubt. However, I'd like to echo Bra and say that once we can get a backup, I'd prefer to move to a server of our own, preferably with Alex as the owner. No offense to anyone else, but I think this situation is proof enough that that would be the best way. As far as I'm concerned, whoever runs the site should own it, regardless of who's paying. We can always get by on member donations (speaking of which, I can donate).

If it's my server, Alex would absolutely have full access to everything. But, no offense, if I'm paying for it, I want to be listed as the server owner. Not the site owner, obviously, but I want to own what I'm paying for - the domain

He's the one being an asshole dodging questions why should everyone sit with thier thumbs up thier asses while he plays big man on campus? Theres a certain point were it stops being polite and starts being a doormat, regardless of why and how the site went down int he first place.

He's not handling this well either. As a sever admin you should ALWAYS contact your customers or friends about their site the moment you've brought things down. He left everyone in the dark, which is why all this stuff is happening.

Basically he's pulling a VJ, and we all know how that feels.

I just read what was said on that site and all. No offense but you would be better just doing it all over yourself if they are going to treat you this way. Three weeks after being asked and what not is bull. Plus a person who helped them seems to not have the right to voice his/her opinion on how she feels on the way she is being dodged. I just say screw them start your site again. Use another host and don't leave any reference to them anywhere on it. Don't give them the figure of a doubt because they aren't even caring about their customers or if your there friends well then thats worse.

This is my opinion and if Im stepping out of bounds I am truly sorry. I just feel it's a waste of time sitting there waiting for them to get on and get things done when they don't even seem to care.

Guys... I agree that he's being an asshole. Never said otherwise. But there are good ways and bad ways to handle assholes. He obviously gets off on thinking he has all this "behind the scenes" power and that he can do whatever he wants. Being confrontational about it has very obviously not gotten anyone anywhere. Not hard to do the math.

No need to get in my face about it.

I agree with Tien. The closest thing he's mentioned to even attempting to get AD back up is, "I'll get to it." It tends to make people wonder. Even a, "I'm not putting it back up." would have been better, because all he's doing is playing a cocktease.
