Kaden Wrote:Hate: the "Pre-purchase Rewards" thing on Steam. They really need to pander like this? It just looks horrendously greedy to me. If it was stupid shit like a pdf with a picture of the dev team smiling and making crude gestures, I'd agree. But they're doing stuff like giving away free copies of XCOM. I can get behind free stuff. ![]() Mal Nova Wrote:I do apologize for using the word rape. There are four separate definitions for the word rape, two of which describe vegetation...

Right. So can everyone, which is why it will work.

So why is it a bad thing? We're receiving goods that we want in exchange for doing something that they want us to do. Is that not a fair trade? Am I missing some part of the issue at hand?

Meh. Preordering has been going on since the days of the barter system. On the plus-side, at least Steam is giving free shit away.
Also, Vad, there was a time when prepurchasing produce was the norm. The farmer would promise you a portion of his crop in exchange for, say, clothes or iron. History, ftw!

Yeah, most people won't have any problems with it. I understand that.
To the point about crops: that still happens today. Around here its actually pretty common to go to the farmer's market and give a farmer $10 and come back the next week to get a box of whatever he was harvesting at the time. ![]() "It's on my brain, driving me insane. If I want that shit for free, I don't need to do it through Steam or pre-order something for it.

Isn't paying for a surrogate mother akin to pre-ordering a baby?

Like: My life is finally turning around. I'm an idiot for being semi blind to it.
Hate: My depression and Bi Polar are suddenly extremely out of whack. Now that I think about it. Some things in my life right now are severely out of my comfort zone... Good lord, Watson. I think we've made a discovery. [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
