“Coo coo ca choo!” my father said as we entered our new apartment. We had just moved from the country World Third to America, the land of the free and the home of the Republicans. I was just a dumb toddler at the time, named José. My father, José, was standing next to my mother, José, who was holding me as our dog, José, jumped inside our new home, nicknamed José. The second story apartment was much bigger than our old home, which was a cardboard hut stuck together with tape and spit. In fact, our hut was the size of the average port a potty, so our two room apartment was a definite improvement. We loved our new home, until the rest of our family moved in with us. Uncle José, Aunt José, Grandma and Grandpa José, and Cousins José, José, José, Pedro, José, and Ben had all moved in with us, so the entire family could escape to a better world. Then the family on my mom’s side moved in. It got so crowded, that the building collapsed in, and we all had to live outside in the rubble. I was really cold that night. “Coo coo ca choo!”
