Heath Ledger did do the Joker better than Jack Nicholson, and the Joker was portrayed exactly how I always felt he should have been portrayed.

OH. MY. GOD.

That's all I can say. This movie was just about one of the most amazing movies I have ever seen. Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker was amazing -- Maggie Gyllenhaal and Aaron Eckhart were both wondrous additions to the cast, but Heath tops them all... sad that he can't come back and amaze us again.

Bale portrays Bruce Wayne as an egotistical dick, I don't really like that. And his Batman voice is pretty terrible, there were a couple intense scenes where him talking brought me out of the moment.

Only negatives for me... that and I kind of lost the plot towards the end. Pretty much the best superhero movie I've seen so far... still have to see The Hulk though.

Batman/Bruce Wayne is sort of an egotistical dick, isn't he? I mean that's how I always remember Batman being from the many portrayals I've seen him in. >.>

EDIT: And it isn't like he's unjustified in some respects; the Batman has saved Gotham City how many times? That's bound to go to someone's head, even if they're a bit jaded.

Yes! Bruce Wayne is suppose to be the spoiled rich kid that everyone hates. To the public he is a man who won the sperm jackpot and was born into one of the most powerful families in the world. Instead of really using his power for "the people" (beyond his occasional charity events) he uses it for his own self gratification. Women, parties, going on long random vacations. He's basically a hedonistic asshole in the comics who only occasional throws charity events to get some good publicity. Atleast thats how I have always thought Bruce has wanted the public to see him as.

I mean if there was a real "Batwoman" in this world who would expect Paris Hilton to be her? I think its basically the same idea.

He picked projects that were interesting and unique to him. He didn't want to do the same thing over and over again.

I'd say that was a winning philosophy, as it netted him the role of the Joker. Honestly, I questioned his ability to do it, but he laid all my doubts to rest when I saw the trailers, and made me repent for ever doubting him when I saw the movie.

I feel bad too, I doubted him like a sumbitch. And the fact that he essentially died getting into character just made me feel horrible. That's what it's all about, he was obviously the real deal.
