What's so special about Ayla?

Well, she can hit like a freight train, and can survive being hit by a freight train.

Her dual techs with Crono are some of the most powerful in the game, so, she's pretty badass. Especially if you level her up high enough to get the various metal fists.

Also the only one who can steal.

I dislike how weirdly shaped the 11th Doctor's face is.

Yeah it's weird like a head made out of blocks. I just think it will take time getting used to it, when David Tennant showed up I was kind of like "Eh..." but after a few episodes I was like- HE RAWKSZ.

I've never really leveled Ayla or Robo.

Robo just doesn't bring much to the party. His duals are all pretty "meh" and usually stuff that someone else can do much better.

Ayla is worth having for Falcon Strike alone.

Yeah... Robo's basically useless. People claim Lucca's good, but I think she's basically useless, too. =(

Not big on Lucca, either. She's slow and has mediocre magic, at best. I have no idea why they felt the need to give her fifty million fire attacks. And by the time you get Flare, it's really not necessary.

The only time I use her is when I want to bust out some Poyozo Dance.

I don't think I've leveled as far as you guys. Either that or I really, really don't remember the game that well.

Then again, like I said, I've only ever used Chrono Magus and Frog. Sometimes Marle. Even then, I've never intentionally leveled in Chrono Trigger.

I think it's one last push to lay on my ass with extreme prejudice before school starts. I've never gotten this into either one of these things. xD

You guys are gay. All of the Chrono Trigger characters are several jillion times more awesome than the best characters in a jRPG today.

There's more to Lucca and Robo than skill sets (which are awesome, by the way -- LASER SPIN, BITCHES). The Green Dream, Robo Factory, and Sun Stone quests were killer and the game would be significantly less without them. As for skills, all characters are redundant after Crono gets Luminare, the Rainbow Sword and a Gold Stud.

To simply call it "steal" is misinformative. She's sexing monsters so they hand over their stuff, just like women do in real life. Go back and watch it, you'll see.

I tried to pick this game back up but Flea owned me and I quit. I don't have the patience for that shit any more. =(

Actually, I stopped playing after I saved over my main game file. It was my first game with about eighty New Game + playthroughs tacked on, suddenly gone in an instant. Really actually, I saved over my old game file when I realized that I was just trying to collect 99 of every item, I had memorized the "enemy zones" so that I could dodge 95% of the random encounters (I didn't need XP anyway because all characters were ** level), and I could recite all of the dialog for every quest in the entire game from memory.

Good times, good times.

If you say so. Even Robo's sidequest seemed bland and unimportant to me. And quite frankly, Lucca's mom coulda been killed for all I care.

That said, it's not hard to make a character better than a modern JRPG character. All you have to do is add a personality.

There are a handful of sidequests in Chrono Trigger, but they don't really open up until you get your airship and can travel through time freely.

Lucca's was cool cause it had a lot of the characters talking about Lavos and the quest that they were on. One of those "take a step back" moments that you don't often see in games.

I agree with Sage, though; Robo's was kinda "meh."
