Hum. I wonder if the reason I enjoy FFX so much is because I'm religious?

FFIX was great, but about the time I started playing it, I couldn't keep my interest up on a playful story (which, I know FFIX had it's dark times, but it was still kinda cartoony).

None of them. They're all stand-alone games.

There's a few ties between them, but they're more curiosities than vital storyline points. The exception being FFX-2, which is a sequel to FFX (and which I wasn't too impressed with).

I'm not religious and I liked FFX the most, so who knows. I do find religion fascinating though. Most people I talk to feel X is the beginning of the decline of the series.

Yeah, but by the time she can do 65000 damage with Holy, her physical attack is also in the tens of thousands, and Tidus/Wakka/Auron/Kimahri (maybe) are hitting 99999. So...

I never HLG like that. I'm always mid-level or low-level. I can't stand grinding any more than I absolutely have to. If you LLG or MLG you have to bugger with magic or you'll basically die. Admittedly that's a pure style choice and I guess most people prefer to grind their way up.

Yuna was doing by far and away ~25,000 damage more than anyone else save Auron in my endgame.

Oh. That's true then.

FFX makes it excessively easy to power-train though, what with Omega Ruins and all that. And there's so many advantages beyond just the AP gainage. All the Gil you get, you can bribe enemies to get kickass items to customize weapons/armor, or power up your aeons. FFX really found that great balance between depth (where there's a ton of things to earn and upgrade) and simplicity (where the game becomes almost intuitive after a certain point).

I never grind in any game unless I absolutely can't progress after multiple deaths (which usually happens when I'm ridiculously underlevelled) and towards the end-game, magic does become pretty useless unless you're facing physical-resistant enemies.

I want a PSP, I will admit, half for Crisis Core. But also for God of War, the portable MGSes and Final Fantasy Tactics (never got to play the original). No PSP for me this christmas though =(

EDIT: And I can't train any further; I've been stuck at the Lvl 3. lock for awhile now, and I don't get any until after this boss. I hate this guy.
