Hey are any of the Xenosaga games any good? o=

No. I got to the end of the first game, but gave up right at the final boss. By then I wasn't even listening to the story and I didn't care about any of the characters, and the combat was retarded if pretty. It was a classic example of a J-RPG with too much talky talky from pumpkin-headed characters with softball eyes. If nothing else, the sheer volume of panty-shots of the little girl character was enough to keep me from trying a second play-through to figure out what the hell was going on.

I hear the second game was worse, if that's even possible.

I don't remember Chrono Trigger being that talky. Unless I'm just mistaken. And Golden Sun was more bearable. Xenogears is like, "hey, you see that save point over there? use it, because you wont see another one for a good 2 hours".

Maybe jrpgs are just too time consuming. I hit my limit about an hour into playing a game, and then I just wanna save and move on. That's why I find WC3 annoying, because it's a huge timesink. You can end up playing for 3 hours, ONLY TO END UP LOSING. Seriously? I vote that if you ever have me doing something for more than 3 hours then I should fucking win by default.

1. It's just wrong to compare Chrono Trigger to the junk that has been cranked out over the last decade.

2. You can save warcraft 3 games in the middle of playing any given campaign mission. Hell, you can save in the middle of a multiplayer game and continue it later when all the players are online. And no campaign mission should take three hours. If you're taking three hours then you're doing it wrong.

Saving in the middle of something is for pussies. And I will admit that I suck hardcore at WC3.

All you need to do in WC3 campaigns is built up a shit-ton of defensive towers around your base, then build up an army so huge that, when deployed, you absolutely steamroll over everything on the map.

Fun times.

This particular mission you had to use Zeppelin's to deploy to the enemies base. And the fucking Zeppelins kept blocking units inside because they were too stupid to automatically find nearby room to drop them off. So I had to rebuild my forces a good 3 times before I got it right.

Usually though, a shit-ton of shit work like a charm.

Oh by the way...I've rated Watchmen movie a 10 out of 10. It was just all kinds of bad assery in that film.

Watchmen.

Like:

The superhero history sequence set to Bob Dylan's "The times they are a-changin'". I liked that a lot.

The fight scenes.

Most of the soundtrack.

Hate:

The seemingly arbitrary deviations from the graphic novel that I can only assume were there in order to massage the egos of actors as the changes all seemed to revolve around giving characters more screen time than they are due ie: Ozymandias' work with Manhattan and the various opportunities for Nite Owl to show off his sub-par skills at expressing emotion. This destroyed the impact of really key lines, like the "Nothing ever ends" part.

I'm don't even mind the changing of the ending to the blame Manhattan thing, because the original message of the ending was still kept intact with that. The death of Rorshach onwards the thing fell completely apart though, mainly due to Nite Owl.

On balance, I hated it less than I expected to. I'd give it maybe a 7.5, 8/10.

Watchmen, Indeed.

I straight up preferred the Manhattan ending to the squid ending, for the movie anyways. I doubt the changes were for the actors egos. Ozy's work with Manhattan was to set up new ending at least.

Dan was hit and miss, Jon good enough, Adrian better than I thought, Eddie pretty good, and Rorschach I don't imagine being done much better. Laurie's acting was... well she had a nice ass I guess? All in all, I agree on the 8/10 rating. I think I'll need to see it again to be sure, and the Directors cut may work even better.

The best part was when this woman ushered her kids out of the movie. She waited 'till the sex scene.
