you only fight her as a test of your playing skill, so beating computer isn't really the point. after playing test match you get a rank, and the game will match you up with similarly-ranked players. as your in-game performance changes against live opponents, so will your rank.

Yeah, I caught that part. I'm not sure what my rank is (or if it even gives you some sort of ranking scale) I didn't look that hard. I also found the friends menu.
