Avatar = dreams

Avatar was fucking outstanding. Jesus Christ... like bro, this is imo the best movie ever made. It's not even a movie, it's a fucking gift... a prophecy even. Just such an imaginative far off world, one none of us will ever be able to experience in our lifetime, one where a man can start over, find life and love, and overcome the weaknesses of man.

First of all, the main character is a fucking badass, nigga cant walk so they give him a body capable of more athleticisim than any athlete from his planet. This was NOT a ripoff of pocahuntous or whatever the fuck that shit was called. This is about a man with enough courage to realize his dream. FUUUUCK. I'm kinda depressed after seeing this movie honestly... I can imagine that if you were to watch it on acid/lsd in 3-D at the imax or some shit, you would be depressed as fuck too. It's like our world isn't the same, and the things humans value aren't important to me anymore because they mean nothing.

Honestly, the character in the movie is like what Jesus was to us. Another being in a body of ours, a savior to a different people. He got there and loved them so much that he gave them hope and shit. It's a vision of what we will become if we dont stop being stupid as fuck, basically... missing out on the fucking paradise city. I ain't trynna miss out on no paradise city, I'm not gonna be no stupid ass fuck going around taking from beautiful things.

This movie taught me a lot. I wish I coulda seen it in 3-D... do they ever bring these big movies back in 3-D to the theaters? I have to see this movie in theaters. It's so needed in my life. It's like the ultimate dream, for a couple of hours you are somewhere else, somewhere fantastic, where dreams can and do come true.

Jack signing in and peacing out,

been good
smokin

PS: what do you all think of this movie???

who out there is closer to achieving a dream???

Don't leave me hangin, that would make me the wierd guy asking wierd shit and i dont wanna be that guy.

XD @ Poca-HUNT-ous.

Anyway, I love this movie, but I'm a scifi nerd, so I really don't know whether or not that's the reason. I personally think it's epic. Maybe a bit Titanic-in-space-esque, but epic nonetheless.

Avatar was the first game I saw in 3D, so I have good memories of it. It was great to see the imagery in that move in 3D.

Y^eah, Avatar is a good film. It's Pocahontas with blue people though. It follows that very standard plot progression, but it's still a good movie. I think mainly it was meant to be stunningly beautiful, which it did very well. That story was a good medium to just shock the hell out of you with imagry. The 3D was also very well done. What it lacked in plot it made up for in everything else. And the plot wasn't even BAD, just predictable.

Inception was astounding. I think they pushed the action genre a little hard at times, but it was a thought provoking inspired film that took very very VERY complex ideas and made them very accessible. The editors and directors had to do a hell of a job to keep that clusterfuck sensible, but the DID IT. Not only is it visually stunning, but it's just this sweet noir flick with crazy philosophical and sociological elements. Artsy, but not with a held up nose, complex but not stupid, great film.

You fail on the spot. You went into a movie with political views in mind instead of just going to enjoy yourself. gtfo

No i didn't go in there with that point of view. I went in to enjoy a movie and got slammed in the face with save the earth bull crap. And honestly I tried to get into the movie I did but I just couldn't stomach any more of the garbage. Now you sir can kindly stfu and gtfo.

There was no save the earth bullshit. It was a storyline that involved a company wanting to mine in a place where a village was...

Kind of line a certain part in our countries history.

*cough* indians *cough*

EDIT: Oh and by judging a movie on the so called "save the earth bullshit" it reveals bias that you have toward the issue outside of the movie....

Which is why I said you fail

The visuals were stunning. I was honestly mesmerized by the imagery for most of the movie.

The plot, though? And the characters? Were passable and flat, respectively. Big standouts on the opposite ends of the spectrum were Weaver, who did a good job with her character, and military general guy, who was so ridiculously stereotypical and one-dimensional that I wanted to laugh out loud.

I didn't really have anything against the political message it brought, though I did think it got a little heavy-handed at times. I don't think it's a bad movie, and it's probably going to have very long legs on its special effects alone, but once you get past those, it's a pretty average film.

Edit: Also it's Dances With Wolves + Fern Gully: The Last Rainforest in space, not Pocahontas.
