Ok, Gohan, it was a typo on that post, I didn't mean for the t to be in a cap. But this thread is basicly for people to discuss any sorta tech.. So ever one can say what they want about <insert tech name> here..

I personally agree 100%. Of course, the other staff have their reasons, and I'm sure they're not wrong, just different. I hope that powerups will be given out more sparingly in future, however.

It's easy to look at someone's post and say "yeah, that's not very good" or "its nothing but rubbish", but the fact remains that effort and time went into it. We do want as high quality writing as possible, but I would not compare, for example, my highest quality writing to many other people who are at this site. I don't think many people would disagree that "quality" is subjective. The fact of the matter is, if people put forth the effort, and take the time, it will be noticed.

I completely understand what all of you are saying, and I don't think any of you are wrong at all. However, I don't want people to think that I base my decisions about such things on a mere whim. I have been staffing here for quite some time, and base my decisions on what I have expereinced.

Let's take Kid Buu, for example. He's new, wanted a powerup, and went to Namek. I would not call his writing the best, not by a long shot, but that doesn't seem to be the point here. He wrote what he did, and then came to me asking to have it rated. I told him that what he had was not enough, and that he would have to write more in order to get the technique he wanted. He complied willingly and without complaint, and added on in the manner I specified. (Hint: if you want to earn points with the staff, question what they tell you to do, after you do it) I think reviewed what he had written. There's more to take into consideration when handing out a powerup than simply the roleplaying a person does. Consistency of writing is one. Interactions with other members/possible interactions. And, believe it or not, placement on the ki list is also taken into consideration. All those things were weighed and I made, what I thought to be, the fairest decision.

Does everybody like it? No. Did I think everyone was going to like it? No. Am I used to that by now? You better believe it.

Now, Furiza, I pose a question to you: Do you think techs are given out too frequently, or do you just not like that KB got a tech? If its the former, then I would greatly appreciate hearing what other techniques you thought were given out frivolously in your time here. I didn't realize that things were being handed out that easily.

Anyway, I don't think that whole "probation period" thing is such a bad idea, Gohan. It will definetly be taken into consideration. BTW, it's "Tae Kwan Do".

I want to know why I got transformation 4 so quickly. I dont think my writing is that good, though at that time I had a plenty of free time to RP and could put my all into it, which I did. Not like now but back to the reward. At first I spazed out when I read your post , I thought I got trans 1. Then I saw I got four. Thats when I had a stroke. In your eyes rad or anyone did I earn it? I dont like not earning what I get.

Well... the catch with your transformation, GJ, is that you only have one. So, in actuallity, you didn't earn more than Transformation_1. But, because all the powerups are supposed to be equal around here, you get a boost in power equal to Transformation_4. And since that's the only way for the database to recognize that kind of a powerup, that was how it had to be added to your roster.

So, to answer your question: "Did I earn it?" I would say: yes and no. In my eyes, you got what you earned.

One of the perks of not being staff. I know you don't care about stuff like that, and I know you would run things differently. But you're not. I could have just looked at the writing, but, in my mind, there's more to it than that.

Lemme just say wow.. I understand what Rad is saying, as he gets the say in it, if he belive's some one has entered their all in to it, then they should really deserve it. As for Freiza, what would happen if Rad jsut turned around, & said you hadn't put you all in to a transformation training thing.. And said sod off your not getting it becuase I don't want you too. So really, if the true staff belive a person earned it, then they should give that person it, as long as it meet's some sorta standard.

I have to say this.I think rad is the one mostly right here, but frieza makes some good points. I fell that powerups are to frequent and other techs to rare. You cant just go on RPing, you have to look into effort yes but I think the RPing bar should be highered a little more. I would like more plain techs given out instead of more power-ups.

Yeah, power-up's are too frequent, but it can be a bitch to go after other tech's or skill's, it is just seen that SK (as an example) is the easiest to get ahold of, so people go for it. Most people go in to it solo, so they can make it alot more easier, but I perfer the way Uub & burter are going about it, at the same time, so their have each other to work agasnt in a way..

I asked this before, but I think it was passed off as me just trying to be an ass, but which powerups are given out too frequently? I mean... I understand KB, but past that... I didn't think it was all that bad. If I were a new member reading this, I would be inclined to think that a joining form would get you a powerup.

As far as I know, the only power up thqats been in question at the moment is SK.. Other then that I dunno what the hell else they are saying..

Ok, waht other tech's can be sought after apart from Metal Binding, & Spirit Bomb? They are the most common tech;s that I know of, any other's can be mentioned, but most of those they have to have certian requierments..

The thing that has added most to the recent flurry of techs is the activity. We haven't always had a saga going on. Now we can't have hardly a week without another saga coming up. Sagas used to be few and far between, but that's where powerups were usually given and still are.

I always thought that the sagas were the only thing you were able to get power ups in. If not then I think it should be the only thing because it's one thing to do a very nice quest but a completely other thing to do a saga were multiple people are involved, not just fighters who are on your side.
