Fighting to the bitter end is an advantage when your opponent does not wish to perish.

The Square MMORPG Rapture looks pretty cool from what little you can find about it.

People seem to think Sacred 2 is pretty awesome. I can't say one way or the other, until like, two days ago I didn't even know it existed. Haven't played it, either.

PS3 is getting the Fallout DLC next month. =)

At least, it will get the first expansion (whichever that was; Anchorage?), then get the second one (Pitt?) 4-6 weeks later, then Broken Steel 4-6 weeks later, etc etc for the new ones.

Still a long wait for what is actually the real ending of the game in Broken Steel, but I'm just happy to finally be getting it. Hopefully GTA DLC will go the same way.

Broken Steel is kinda neat. Doesn't... really feel worth it, though.

The Lost and Damned was very good. It ends pretty abruptly - really abruptly - but they do a great job with characterization and they add a lot of new weapons. Seeing a dude's wang was kind of... not cool... but you take the good with the bad I guess.

I'm just happy to have the opportunity to continue my DLC experience.

That said, I'll probably try to unload Fallout 3 in the next few months and buy the GotY edition, for the sake of funds.

GTA4 is pissing me off. Some of these missions are rather difficult and long, and when you have to start all the way over with each failure (which often includes 2-3 minutes of just driving to get there in the first place), it starts to suck big balls.

I just failed the mission where you have to storm a hospital, then escape a 3-star wanted level. How the fuck am I supposed to just casually lose the wanted level? My car caught on fire due to thirty cop dive-bombs (while, of course, it took my fucktard protagonist Niko a full five seconds to get his ass out of the car), so the explosion rocketed me away from the car, and I get nailed by three cop shotguns. Just like that. Bullshit, and a waste of my fucking time.

Haven't yet, and don't want to until the game's over.

I found GTA 4 to be by far the easiest GTA game I've played, maybe it's just cause I actually focused on playing through the story, whilst on the others I basically just messed around. I had to do over a few missions 3-4 times, but I can't recall ever being really stuck on one.

No, what Meer summed up really does happen, a lot. I found that in GTA you need to do things a certain way for them to work out. I kept setting up my downfall in get away missions because of my need to ram into things. >.>

It's... actually really, really easy.

Drive fast, don't be predictable when choosing a route, and don't hit stuff. You could lose a 5 star without much trouble using that formula.

You're going to crap yourself when you reach Three Leaf Clover. XD

Which, actually, if you use basically the same strategy I just outlined, is also really, really easy. Some missions can be frustrating, especially three leaf clover and the final mission, but they're not horribly difficult.

Now failing the final mission in San Andreas. That was a shot to the nuts because you could lose upward of an hour of playtime as a result. :p

Been killing time until inFAMOUS comes out. Finished through X-Men Origins and X-Blades and I've been playing something called "Demigod."

Origins is a pretty straight-forward hack'n'slash game. Definitely better than the movie. They give you this Pounce attack that's way over powered, but that's not a huge complaint. Something I found odd is that, as you get towards the end of the game, they stop scaling the enemies to how strong you should be. In the last 3~4 missions, you're fighting guys that you can literally kill in one weak attack.

X-Blades is ok. Not as good of a slasher as X-Men was, but not bad. I didn't actually pay money for it, though, which helps its case a lot. You collect these souls as you kill guys and use them to buy skills/upgrades/items/bullets. What the game doesn't really make clear is that you will need just about all your elemental skills and that killing bosses and the various new bad guys you encouter is as much as puzzle as it is a fight. Once you get into that mindset, the game becomes a lot less... frustrating. Getting to the point where you can clear one room and have enough souls to buy half your spells also helps.

Demigod is really cool. It was an impulse... acquisition and totally worth it. I think Waff would agree. You pick a demigod (there are 2 different archetypes and 4 demigods per archetype) and run around capturing control points and killing enemy soldiers/demigods until you complete the map's objective. It's a lot of fun and each demigod has their own kinds of play styles. There's a skill-tree system for getting new spells and attacks and passives and you definitely can't get all of them by the time you hit the level cap on a map. You can use the same demigod several times before getting to see all their skills.

So, yeah. That's what I've been playing lately. That and Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2, of course.

EDIT: NICE MUSCLE!

Oh, and I played Rock Band the other day. That song selection was pretty gay, I think I'd be more of a guitar hero person.

In any event, I sucked at it hardcore.

After Guitar Hero 1 (2 was passable) I haven't liked any of the Guitar Hero track-lists.

Demigod is win.

X-Blade is average/below average. I wasn't a huge fan of it but I didn't even make it as far as Kaden.

The Wolverine game is a lot of fun. And if you don't use that double experience mutagen it's actually really hard the whole way through... but by the end if you did it right and are a complete badass it's too easy.

Going to go pick up my copy of inFAMOUS in about 1hr30. Should be excellent. Think I will probably put down some money on the new Red Faction too.

This is like the worst time of year: the couple weeks right before a birthday where you are not allowed to buy stuff because you might get it. I call it the "Surplus Period" because you are forced to save money. I'm really excited for the week after my birthday, or as I call it, the "Period of Gift Fulfillment" when I get to go buy all the games I didn't get.
