Let's get a Pokemon circle going. We have like 4 people so far that said they'd do it. It's nothing but playing at your leisure, but I set up a thing for us to use teh online link cable, which is COOL AS FUCK.

Yeah, what the hell. I'm in, I guess. Bear in mind I've never played any of the pokemons except Red and Blue, so I probably have no fucking clue what I'm doing.

If my 360 ever gets unredringed sometime this century I might quit, though. We'll see.

No, it sucks. There's virtually no storyline to speak of, and leveling is fucking broken. If you don't grind your ass off you'll rocket through the game and then get obliterated because you're lvl 4 in an area where you should be lvl 8 minimum.

It's a bad game with good game mechanics that they didn't bother to fucking use. Not to mention a lot of stuff doesn't make any sense, even in the context of a D&D setting.

I'm still playing it, but I'm left wondering why.

Seriously, though, I never ran into any areas where it seemed harder than it should. The first time I ran into a Greater Mummy, my Cleric actually solo'd it because I had everyone else off fighting.

I count the death of even one person as a failure. I could easily plough through many of the fights if I didn't care about one or three people getting knocked off.

Well, a failure, until you get a rez spell, anyway. At that point it's like "fuck you, common sense! I can too beat a dragon to death with my bare hands RAAAAGH!!"

As far as sucking at it, well, maybe. I don't really think so, though. Hell, in BGII I could get a fucking mage to solo melee pretty much any opponent to death without even bothering to buff him. Still, maybe. =/

Iunno. It's not even the difficulty that bothers me, anyway. It's the fact that I'm bored. The storyline is nonexistent, leaving you wondering why the hell you're off to save the... whatever, the town, I guess, instead of just chillin until spring so you can fuck off because the people there don't seem to particularly care that they're going to be destroyed by some unexplained and uninspired 'evil presence.'

Anyway, I already have a file for Pokemon Ruby, so unless someone else is as far along as I am (my highest level is a 42) then I probably won't play a whole lot until people start to catch up. Unless someone wants to help me out with my Kazam.

Me and Cain got it to work but holy fuck is it taxing. He has dial up, so it was running at like 16% speed, as low as 2% sometimes. Apparently this is a 2mb a second thing... if you have Comcast you should be good but that's a fuckton of a hell of a lot.

I sent him a song once and it took almost two hours. In that time I could have downloaded two movies. >.<

Also, you have no idea what I went through to get a working, ENGLISH version of Pokemon Emerald. I have a mudkip or whatever, hopefully it doesn't suck. All these new pokemon are strange and frightening to me

These new Pokemon games have way too many HMs. It forces you to carry around Pokemon you don't want, equipped with the skills to get you around. I think Leaf Green is the same way, hope not, that was one of the reasons I picked it. And 493 Pokemon is INSANE. Have fun with that.

493 is only in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum.

The generation that you're playing (the GBA games) only has 386, Bulbasaur through Deoxys. However, most of your time in the game will be spent filling out the Hoenn Pokedex which has around 150 I believe. It's not until you beat the game that you're supposed to be able to get the other ones.
