New Power-ups
#1
I was bored, and wanted something to entertain me, and decided this would probably stir up some interesting conversation. So, out of the goodness of my heart, here are some of the ideas that we've talked about for the third level powerups. This is all just preliminary, and there's no garauntee that they'll remain as they are.

Super Saiya-jin 3 - learned somewhere in the underworld. Maybe from a Kai, maybe from Dabura, but it requires extensive training in the afterlife either way. Realizes the brute strength inherent in the saiyan race. (x48 power up)

Namekian Nirvana - I haven't figured out how this one is achieved as of yet, still working on that. However, it would require an incredible amount of determination and intelligence instead of just high ki. This is more about the mastery of the melding between one's spirit, mind, and body. It gives the namekian limited telepathic abilities and effortless regenerative qualities. Regenerating an entire body would consume little to no ki. The power up is not as great, but the telepathic abilities of the Namekian give them the ability to move before their opponent even takes a swing. (x38 power up)

Doppleganger - They can mimic the effects of any of the other transformations at x2 weaker than the original. (ex: Koola could use SSJ3 at x46)

Divine Intervention - Humans (and non-transformers alike) found themselves outmatched by the species that had developed the ability to transform and increase their powers. Though the name implies a blessing from a higher power, it is simply a human's concious mind unleashing the last potential within their race (blah blah blah... more bs can be made to make it sound more interesting). Anyway, this would be the first flat out powerup for a non-transformer. I'm thinking of something like a x40 powerup that also applies to luck and determination as well as the physical stats. I couldn't think of anything else to make it different.

Nano Machinery - While the pinicle of Android technology was reached with the RAGE upgrade, many scientists thought the system could be improved upon. The nano machines created can be thought of as a kind of "patch" as is commonly found in software. The nano machines canot be integrated into an unoperational RAGE system, however. Upgrades to the sensors allow androids to detect ki cloaked by even the most sofisticated of technology. In addition, the nano machinery gives an incredible boost the cell production, allowing androids to heal wounds exceptionally fast. Aside from minor cuts, however, the healing process is not advanced enough to really aid during battle. It simply allows an android to recover from a fight, even mending fractured bones, in an incredibly short amount of time. (x44 power up)

So, there you have them. Again, these are just some of the ideas that were kicked around a while ago. The staff hasn't really talked about it in a while, but go ahead and give some feedback.

Ima liking the idea of race-specificabilities fir the transformation. They seem balanced enough too... though humans need something more...

With the doppleganger, is the transformer required to have witnessed the transformation first?

When in doubt: It was sarcasm.

I was just thinking about revamping DI. It does seem underpowered. But then again, it is giving a non-transforming character a transformation, in essence. I was thinking of making it a x50 powerup and adding some other kind of bonus to the ability, but I'm not sure what yet.

As for the Doppleganger question... I'm not sure. For example, let's say Furiza is the first one to get a third tier powerup. He wouldn't be able to use it, because no one else would have a powerup he would have seen. Then again, that might be the draw-back to the technique, so its easier for changelings to get.

These are all pretty preliminary.

I think they are very good ideas.. the Namek's get a lot of good shit even tho the power multiplication is down, Super Saiyans and Androids and Changelings are all basically even.. a little work on the non transformers and a little elbow grease.. Anyhow i think staff should seriously consider these, i like them very much.. props to Rad

Personally, I think that Namekian Nirvana is the most powerful transformation, even though it has the lowest multiplier.

SSJ3 is kind of cool, since its effectiveness is based on the person using it. Since it doesn't give any extra abilities itself, its up to the member to get the abilities to agument their powerup on their own. Kinda diverse like that.

Yes, even though Garlic Jr and Zarbon both have only one transformed form, each transformation would be like upgrading that one form to a higher level. I'm not sure about the second question though...

However, it could be argued that "taking it slow" is why this RPG has lasted so long. I mean, so far, in four years (I think), only two people have managed to ever receive their second-tier powerups, each one happening quite recently. Then there's other RPs where everyone gets SSJ4 in the second month and the whole RPG dies because there's nothing more to do. I think they're good ideas, but I also think you should consider seriously restricting the third tier power-ups.

I like the whole idea but I wondered something.

Since Rad's hair is already so long would it get even longer in SSJ3 form? I just thought of that....

But the lvl 3 and all is cool. And I like how you put humans in there too. You should go along with the plan after working it out some more.

Here is a stretch....alright human's alone have no transformations...we have to get spirit ken or kaio ken..now this divine intervention would be at least a x40 and would count for a third level power up..why not have something before that..I was bored and had insomnia lasy night and a thought struck me..for human's with the above spirit ken or kaio ken why not give them a x30 trans called Ascension...that could lead to DI..

A transformation taking the user into a higher plain of consciousness granting thier body a new found power and determination blah blah..user must have pl base 1,200,000 and have an int and det of 300....

something like that....it's just off of the top of my head..*shrugs* just thought I would post it while rad was on the subject...

I dont like the idea much, personally, cause the power gap is big enough as it is.

Or maybe its cause I just got Spiritkin and I wanna lay in my glory of being strong for awhile >.>

Yes, but that means people JUST joining could get wiped out by me without having a chance.

It just heightens the power gap. I realize I can get strong, but it just makes you noobs weaker compared to us in the top 10

most of the new ppl that join now would have ti also. i personally think it would be funnier than hell to see u get whooprf up by pikkon in his DI form XD

Divine Intervention is a third level power up, thus you need a first and second level to get it.

Speaking of which, what is the second level power up for non-transformers? Is there a Super Spiritkin?

Maybe no one will have them for ages, but they will probably be on the site relatively soon. SSJ2 was up long before I left, hell I put it up. =x
