i love dbk now. it's so fast and to-the-point that they use parts of old episodes for intro/outro. it's only episode 12 and goku is already fighting nappa :O

You can't make me do it mommy. The Japanese voices hurts us. No mommy! IT HURTS. ;.; Fucking put English voices already.

Wuss.

I always prefer original Japanese voices on anime, the hell with trying to translate stuff like 'Dattebayo' into English.

That's so incorrect it makes me cry a little bit.

I usually go with subs, but that's more because the dubbing process is slow and expensive and it's never even considered for most series.

i got used to the jap db voices, but i don't prefer one over the other. the only anime where the english dubbing is inherently better than the jap version is cowboy bebop. the english translation even made the dialog better which is beyond rare.

i've had the whole series on dvd for years and i've never watched an entire episode in jap dub. jap faye annoys the hell out of me for some reason. they did keep all the original music intact for the eng dub, which is nice since half of the fun of cb is the soundtrack.

which brings me back to dragonball. i kinda wish they just changed the voices but left the original soundtrack alone. the jap dub's audio has a nice pace to it. the eng dub has sounds and music almost always blaring. :|

I actually really liked the dubbed version of Black Lagoon as well. FMA wasn't too bad of a dubbing job either, in my personal opinion, if we acknowledge that I didn't immediately grab the nearest manga and do a point for point translation comparison. But the Black Lagoon translations and voices seemed very spot on, including the awesome "YEAH! YOU GOT FUCKED!" giving the bird scene.

You make me cry. In fact, that statement has made me die a little inside.

Though it is a preference thing. If you enjoy high pitched japanese males screaming, than more...eh...man sounding males screaming thats fine. I'll stick with the english uncut Dragonball Z that aired in '96

kthx

Hate: This shit.

1:28 AM Round 2: [@G]C0LD L0GIC[@K] (1) - Tyrodium (2)
1:30 AM Tyrodium has been eliminated.

Let me translate that for you. I'm in a large Magic tourney online, and I lose the first round with that opponent at 1 life and me just getting lands for 5 turns, enough time for him to drop repeat threats that take me from 20 - 0 in those five turns. No big deal, that happens a lot.

I go to the loser's bracket, get paired against a tough matchup. However, the guy I'm playing (as nice as he was) keeps screwing up. He had the kill sitting on the board and just had to activate it, taking me to 2 and just NOT USING THAT ABILITY. Despite having just put it into play that turn with that intention. This is game three of that, and he just keeps being dumb, but the thing is he keeps suiciding over and over into my guys clearing his own board but then just playing cards from the top of his deck each turn and just literally out drawing me, just turning stuff sideways without any plan. He of course wins doing this, with me holding exactly what I need in my hand with one land short.

So he wins. This puts me x/2 in the brackets, which is enough that if tiebreakers are counted, I still won't make the top 8 and get into the prizes. I can still keep playing for fun, but winning every round will not get me into the prizes.

He will, since he beat me, if he plays well the rest of the way up.

So he drops from the tournament two minutes after knocking me out.

Wasn't talking about just DBZ, yo. Regardless, most of that was a factual statement.

And see. You with your general statement got me confused with my only DBZ statement.

Kaden, you are a master of manipulation!

I hate how if I'm slightly stressed out or am doing too many things at once, it's like my brain overloads and switches off, making it so differcult for me to concentrate. I've noticed this more and more lately.

I also hate how I always fall into really restricting routines, routines based around completely irrelevant, unproductive things.

NBA 2K8 is bullshit. Way too many lay-ups, way too few dunks, and probably a good thirty percent of the short shots miss.

I mean, seriously. Marbury with a 20% FG? Fuck that.

CPU, of course, nails most of theirs.

I usually really like Yahtzee.

What I like even more are the Sucker Punch and Radical dev teams.

I actually like the redub they did with the box set re-releases of DBZ. Although, some of the US dialogue is still ridiculous, like in the last episode of season 1, Bulma just cries out "Oh no, I forgot to put on pants before I left!" as she walks around in panties and a crop top.

I also like the US voices for Inuyasha. I watched a couple episodes in japanese and the voices just bugged the crap out of me. I pretty much just muted it and read the subs.
