The Like/Hate Thread

I'm much more comfortable bouncing off of a foundation a few times and seeing where I naturally find myself going rather then just going in from scratch. I find the latter overwhelming, almost like there is soooo much I COULD do that I never actually fully settle on one thing.

For that reason I practically built Angelo as a supporting character. He doesn't really do things so much as he reacts to stuff, which in a group dynamic is fine, but for lonesome writing would require some creativity from me that I'm not sure I have.

I hate being offtrack on my sleeping schedule.

I hate that I stayed up on the phone until four am with a woman who is still unclear of what she wants...I really am trying to be patient but I can't do it anymore.

I like how this other woman has what I want in a potential significant other but she's taken and is too far away...though she's been contemplating dumping the guy and moving near or to my neck of the woods.

I love my nieces, they're a riot.

I hate getting tongue tied when talking to a beautiful woman.

I hate it when I don't approach a woman right then and there and it comes back to hunt me at times I don't expect it.

I do like encountering said woman and having another shot, when that happens I just go for it.

Hate: Playing against fuckers in Japan/Korea/Sweden who get Host and float through all of my shots.

Half-Blood Prince was pretty awesome. I've kind of forgotten the entire plot though, so I was somewhat lost, and I knew like 40% of the characters. Even still, good movie.

It was pretty good. Still had most of the flaws of the previous films, but what was good was damn good.

When in doubt: It was sarcasm.

What are the flaws?

Snapshot narrative, forced dialog (much less than previous films), fumbling with plot points and generally removing all subtlety.

i thought that was just the general list of problems with all book-to-movie translations. books revolve around third person narrative, and motion pictures (or "talkies" as the kids are calling them these days) just can't get behind-the-eyes exposition with facial expressions

Thats because most book-to-movie translations are too pussy to deviate where it counts yet inexplicably deviate in completely retarded places.

Scared, uninspired, limited, lazy. Go ahead and pick one, they're all accurate at some level. I just have to find my biggest writing fault and work that out then I should manage.

I liked the movie...though I could've sworn a funeral was held for him at the end of the book. Or was it the beginning of the next one?

The movie is only the first half of the book, apparently. I've never read the book so I couldn't tell you.

That must have been a big book, because the movie was LONG AS FUCK.

I was far too into it to realize the length of it...it seemed to have passed by quick to me and I'm going to see it again tomorrow.

The movie was the whole of the six book as far as time span. And yes a funeral was held in the book.

Lets delve into books that were turned into crappy movies.

Eragon.I have read all of the books they are simply awesome.

They turned it into a movie and ripped it apart and removed all of hte things that made the book so good. The oly thing they did right was when they casted brom. The guy who played brom fit the character perfectly and made me so happy.

End story.

Tis all true.

I just saw the Halfblood prince, what really dissapointed me (and made no sense fyi) was the fact it didn't have a climax like the other movies. Spoileralert from here, though not much, but in every other film, there was always a REAL fight. I wanted to see sparks flying around making people go 'OHVOMITSNAILS' and not the little bathroom-ta-ta-ta that was the only real fight scene, well that and someone blasting some guy fifty yards through Hogwarts at some point near the end. The book had FANTASTIC showdowns, then they give me this?

PFFFFT.

I stopped caring about Harry Potter a long time ago.

I stopped caring about movies that stem from my childhood.

The third book kicked ass. I refuse to read past the 5th book.

Hermione is...attractive.

Life as we know it is an illusion.

Welcome to the Matrix.

Fighting to the bitter end is an advantage when your opponent does not wish to perish.
