Only this isn't a democracy so we can't pull an 'Obama.'
We're not elected officials, sight?
I hate when people pull that card, btw.

You know your wrong sage. In a way it is a democracy sage. What good is a rpg where the members are fighting and at each others throats over something simple honestly.

Were Master Roshi's Hut or Kuroki's Tower considered while naming this location, i remember some pretty mystical shit happening on top of that space-needle-look-a-like. Definitely crazier and more relevant things to ability changing then a room that bends space and time.
Edit: This place is certainly no democracy Marks. They are staff, we are the useless sheep that they must lead to the promised land. I mean, look at Ashe's examples of how we act, those are definitely clear depictions of the average Chubbsian: mindless, inbred swine incapable of reasonable thoughts of ideas. Or atleast, a good depiction on how some of us are viewed.

No, I know I'm right. In no way is it a democracy. If someone says "I don't like this," we can say "too bad this is how it is." True democracy doesn't allow that to happen.
I'm not saying we're going to stifle members' creativity. Obviously, it's important that the members are having a good time and aren't pissed off with the way things are run/handled/etc. Most people who know me know I would never suggest something like that. The reason this thread exists at all, and hasn't been locked, is so that people have a venue to express their ideas. None of which constitutes a democracy.

That's not why I "insulted" you.

Dubblet: Geez, Alex. I hope you don't actually believe that. If you think you were being treated condescendingly or poorly, really, I'm sorry. You're right; that shouldn't ever happen. You guys deserve to be treated respectfully. I... don't know what to say, though. Sorry.

No Kaden honestly I dont understand as to why you insult me or degrade me when In all honesty the only thing I can see that I have done wrong is posting sillyness or random things (as do alot of people) that perhaps you dont find worthy or something. Your entitled to your oppinion but..Yeah your right sage this isnt a democracy and I apologize to you and kaden for coming off so angry about it all. I feel as a member I am entitled to my oppinion and should be allowed to take my stance on it.This below is all I have left to say on it.
"Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the object worship of the state. It will prescribe for every one where they are to work, what they are to work at, where they may go and what they may say. Socialism is an attack on the right to breathe freely. No socialist system can be established without a political police. They would have to fall back on some form of Gestapo, no doubt very humanely directed in the first instance."
This was just my only means of letting the staff know how im feeling right now about everything I honestly feel as if I have no choice in anything on chubbs except to do as im told. Not tryng ot be insulting I just want to know what the staff has to say about it and please no insults.

That quote on Socialism is, i mean this with no offense, ridiculous. Sweden doesn't have a secret police.
Sage, there is a difference between always getting that vibe, and getting it in certain situations. This thread is one of those situations.
Back on topic, i just thought the ROSAT name could have been used for something a bit more mystical and powerful then this. Something of this stature, which seems to just be a way to alter your character when you're bored, should have recieved a name of lesser stature - like Korin's Tower. Or . . . Raditzu's Village of Awesomesauce Ability Alteration.
Edit: Don't cry Belle, man up and grip that sack.

Socialism's working pretty good for Sweden.
They've still got their civil liberties and they're not bankrupt.
Plus, they're an actual country, not a website.
Not to mention... how the hell can we be socialist? You do realize socialism isn't just an alternative to democracy, right? There were free societies before democracy. O.o
EDIT: Oh snap! Alex beat me to it.
Anyway, your request isn't unreasonable, Trafford. I can't say anything for sure what with me not being an admin but I'm sure we'll consider it.

I actually wasent reffering to the socialism title. more so this part
"It will prescribe for every one where they are to work, what they are to work at, where they may go and what they may say. Socialism is an attack on the right to breathe freely"
I was trying to express how i was feeling without being insulting or angry.I guess im just feeling like im not allowed to say anything cuz its just gonna be shot down without a second thought as to why i feel that way.Im just gonna go take a time out get some air and chill. Sorry if i have offended anyone or upset anyone. Alot of other problems causing my bad mood apologies.

Dude. Making erroneous political statements will get you shot down.
That's just a fact of life. It's not like we're going after you. If Belle or Ander or whoever said the same thing I'd just as quickly slap them upside the head. Your quote is outright wrong, and Alex and I both gave the same example as to why.
In this case, we argued socialism wasn't evil. We both offered Sweden as an argument. Hell, Canada's socialist, too. One could even make a convincing argument that the US is socialist, but this isn't the thread for it so I'd rather stop talking politics here.

And again...I wasent referrng to socialism....I was using a small portion of the statement from something i was reading for a class report.
"It will prescribe for every one where they are to work, what they are to work at, where they may go and what they may say"''I was just trying to say that just because i have a idea dosent meant it should just be labeled as stupid. Everyone may not agree with it but that dosent make it any less valid. Just made me feel like i wasent allowed to say anything. My apologies for not pointing that out sooner.
And your right politics should have never been brought in. And I apologize yet again. But back to the matter at hand.
Why in all honesty does it seem that it is so important that it be called the Rosat? I think that question is valid enough for the topic and it will honestly rid me of my sick feeling, just to know why?

So back on topic . . .
Bad defenses for using the ROSAT as a name, drowning out opposition opinion in a sea of useless text, and keeping down Jack.

We have a few ideas proposed:
-Changing an ability for another
-Gaining a new ability entirely
-Getting techs/abilities(?) for cheaper XP costs
-Changing the name from ROSAT to something different for contextual accuracy
Am I missing anything here? (Probably)

Why does this have to be called the ROSAT? That's all i want to know. A bunch of people opposed the use of this name, and some staff and others got all riled up about it. I want to know why, why is it so bad to not want to use such a strong, canon-themed name for something that's entirely creative and new?

For the exact same reason you think it shouldn't be used, actually.

I want the name to be changed because it is canonically irrelevant, and there is also numerous other mystical places that could be used for such a place. You want to use the RoSaT and not these other places because you feel like it. Not the same.

You don't like the association between the name and the provided service. Other people do.
Same reason.

The last page or so of this thread was devoted to thrashing Marks for suggesting a vote, something which would show exactly who is in favor of this and who isn't. Nobody wanted that, this isn't a democracy, so why come with the "what people want" angle now?
