They were the guys who were arrested for being communists right? And killed, or something? I'm going to look them up.
Edit: Nope, I'm thinking of two other people. I always did get them confused in History. ![]() "I would happily blow 20 guys in an alley with bleedy dicks so I could get AIDS then fuck a deer and kill it with my AIDS." - Louis C.K. thanks waff Kaden Wrote:I wish being ten John Does made me feel better than it actually does.

I thought they were framed for a murder or something that they didn't commit. There's gotta be more to it than that though, because how that would be headline news is beyond me.

Essentially, they were tried and convicted for murder. They were also anarchists.
It's a complicated story in history. There was a lot of controversy at the time over their conviction. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacco_and_Vanzetti 'Any stigma and disgrace should be forever removed from the names of Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti. We are not here to say whether these men are guilty or innocent. We are here to say that the high standards of justice, which we in Massachusetts take such pride in, failed Sacco and Vanzetti.' - Michael Dukakis, 1977
When we learned this in class I enjoyed this segment in History. That and 30's and 40's for obvious reasons.

It's a kickass period of history. Except for the wars.

I enjoyed learning about wars. Though it was partly our fault (being that we were an allied nation) for starting WWII, I devoured the information given to me.

Oh, me too. Learning about them is fascinating stuff.
I remember when we touched this in 10th grade history. The teacher spent alot of effort on these individuals and how they illuminated aspects of the US government. Very memorable lesson, great teacher. Word up, Mr. Gardner.
