Another Wind Ki question
#1
As Nova manipulates Wind and can feel shifts in the wind, would I need a tech to be able to feel the shifts of the wind from someone moving in a room?

Side question: Wouldn't this be kind of like that low-grade Ki Sense that got removed shortly after the reset? Or at least have the same effect (being able to tell where people are without looking).

I can't see anything wrong with that. Several abilities have weaker techs associated.

Yes, Belle it would.

Not OP or too much like Ki Sense Because:

relatively short range considering what it's based on, doesn't sense dragon balls, can't be used to detect enemy strength.

Personally though, I just see it as split-second early warning system that wouldn't work much more than like, ten feet away, but that's me.

I hate using myself as an example, but this is Vad's version of the Fighting Sense that used to exist (For Belle) and for Oriole this is what you're allowed to do currently.

Taken from my roster. Note: I have MAS

Quote:
Tactics
Having spent years as a martial artist, Vad has learned to use all of his senses to their fullest. The sound of a footstep, the smell of sweat and blood, and even the smallest twitch of muscles allow Vad to keep track of those he's in close combat with. He can detect movements of people within 8 feet of him thanks to his martial skills and training.

So? If Mal can sense wind, then he can sense the movement and disturbances in the air. But i wouldn't take this too far. If someone is walking, and thus not disturbing the air or creating any significant wind current, then perhaps Mal would not be able to know of there presence. But if someone was flying towards him, or leaping at him, or doing an after image or what not, it's reasonable to think that he would be able to sense them coming, regardless of how 'quiet' they may be. Again, i wouldn't take this to any extreme, but using it as RP fodder for picking up noticeable disturbances doesn't seem out of hand. That said, Mal would have to agree not to GM it, since it could be similar to fighting sense if used too seriously.

Correct, which is why Tactic's was made a custom tech. It was to limit Vad's ability to do it naturally with MAS on board. (I believe.) I forget the logic Kaden gave me.

Again I hate using myself as an example, but I didn't know of any other instance where I could have drawn conclusions from. =/

Trafford nailed it pretty well.

Throw it up as a Custom and give yourself some limitations to it, Mal. We'll see how it looks then.

If I really wanted to make it a Tech... I'd sit there and go use something like sonar or some shit. Don't really want tosit there and make yet another move on the Custom Move thread until I actually have purchased the initial one.

I just had a scene in my head with this upcoming mission/quest where I'd use the wind to detect something/someones.

And in my latest post last night, when Retane launched Windstorm at Mal, he closed his eyes and something clicked with in him and with the air around him, he 'felt' or gained a mental image of the surroundings and the cyclone coming at him(it was rather vague cuz I started rushing and had distractions) but it was also because the Windstorm caused air/wind to bounce off of of everything.

That's a Custom thing, not just something that the Ability on its own would do.
