Super Mario Frustration. I finished that. =\
It's really easy when you get the hang of it, and realise that 'on a pad, moving to the right, hitting a wall, while moving left' means you phase through the wall.

Christopher Walken should do more game commentary
When in doubt: It was sarcasm.

There actually is a counter measure to them. If you roll when they explode, they don't do damage to you.
If you have the sound on, it's actually not very hard to time.

Well, if worse comes to worse there is a PC version. If you know what I mean.

I've read two reviews of that game and they both metaphorically bend over and accept it with glee. I'll be buying it for sure.

My wife is probably playing it now. =(
I'm looking forward to playing it when I get home from work, though. It looks pretty sweet.

GameSpot - 9
Game Informer - 9.5 (called it 'This year's BioShock' =o )
MetaCritic - 92
I'm going to say, probably well worth it. Can't justify $60 at the moment, but I will definitely be picking it up when it drops in price.

That good?
...And it's a comic book superhero game?
Something's fishy, methinks. Still, I might have to try it at least.

From what I've heard, it's good because they nailed the atmosphere. As I'm sure everyone knows, Batman is all about preparation and fear and this game is supposed to nail both of those things dead-on.

The reviews made comment that it was surprising that a superhero game was this awesome, so I trust it somewhat.

I find it strange when I tried the demo by Steam. I found it almost a direct rip-off from Wolverine, except they had stripped away his survivability and exchanged it with crawling in the dark as you swing from a gargoyle. They did a GREAT job on depicting the supervillains so they actually look scary (and sexy, Harley Quinn <3)
But come to think of it, if it is atmosphere they're judging by then yeah, it was well amazing. I loved that criminals actually responded to their best friend hanging from some gargoyle.

Harley Quinn's a butterface.
Anyway, I think those ratings were deserved. Everything from the graphics to the voice acting to the character designs were remarkably well-done. Scarecrow's my personal favorite--if someone ever did to me what Scarecrow did to Batman, I'm pretty sure I'd shit my pants.
Admittedly, the actual gameplay is probably the game's weak point. There are plenty of things that make it diverse enough to warrant the 20+ hour gameplay, but in the end, it's still a button-masher at heart.
Besides, Steven Blum lends his voice in this game. That alone makes it worth at least a rental to me.

Been playing Arkham Asylum for a while now and, although the rest remains to be seen, my interest has been held pretty firmly the whole way through. More and more I've been playing games which I think are 'good', but which had the potential to be really great if the developers just spent a bit more time on it. So it's a breath of fresh air to play a game of this overall quality and polish. You can tell that the designers weren't just trying to make a successful game here, they really wanted to make it as good as it could be.
So far it seems they've managed to keep the gameplay varied enough between platforming, exploration, stealth, regular combat and more creative boss stuff without any of those aspects feeling like they're letting the game down. I think most people have probably played a game where, say, the combat is good but there are crappy tacked on stealth/driving sections which are just a chore to play. Here, it feels like every part was given the same amount of love. I also have a fetish for grappling hooks and have been waiting far too long for the Metroid series to expand the grapple beam functionality to "works on most things", so having that was another plus point for me.
