"Stealth - Using one's own methods, one can effectively render themselves invisible to the naked eye, either through blending in with their surroundings or by bending light around themselves. They will only be able to maintain their invisibility so long as they do not attack. Once an attack is made, the invisibility is broken. Stealth also makes your attacks silent."


I few ideas i have been thinking of: 1) It says it makes attacks silent, so, what does that actually mean. Does Charles remain invisible until the attack hits? Or is it all attempts, not just hits? For instance, invisible shadow boxing would be pointless. lol

2) The sound of ki: What does ki sound like? I have recently imagined that it would kick lots of ass if ki moving through the air made thunder-like noises. This would actually make stealth really awesome. I might rp Charles' ki attacks that way just cause it would be cool.

3) Does the silence clause have a time limit? If once breaks stealth with say attacking with a machine gun does the whole burst become silent or is there just a several second time limit? Or is it just the first bullet? (which would still be very useful.

Hmm i think that last sentance got added on cuz of one of my rambling questions. Key word is think.

To give you an answer before staff comes and gives you a definate one...

1. When Charles moves to make an attack -be it hand combat or energy attack- he breaks the invisibility and looses the attack. I assume it really has to do with concentration and such. It's how I write it...

2. Pretty sure what ki sounds like is up to you. But as I think the sound thing came up from dealing with me.... I assume cloaking the sound of an energy attack is perhaps to use it as a sneak attack and such.it's stealth after all. so you'd be trying to move about unseen and unheard.

3. IM not sure you can silence a gun unless it involves a move. Try to be a bit realistic about it. I wouldn't use Stealth to cloak the sound of a bullet. I don;t think theres a limit on time... But im sure that if you did fire a gun and cloaked the sound since the initial sound is made near you, that the only sound that would be heard was when the bullet it something.

1.) Stealth's first function is to make its user invisible. As soon as the user launches an attack, the invisibility cannot be maintained and is dropped. For example, if Charles were to fire an energy beam, the very second it leaves his hand, he becomes visible to everyone. Or, if Charles were to be invisible right in front of someone, and he attempted to punch them, as soon as he reared his fist back, he would become visible. Whether the attack is physical or ki, as soon as it begins, you lose your invisibility. It doesn't matter if it hits or not: all attack attempts count.


2.) Mal is correct. Ki can sound like pretty much however you want it to sound. There are stock sound effects the show used, and you can follow those or not. We really don't care. Here's an example of a standard energy attack from the series, which starts at about 2:45. The sound quality is kind of crappy, but it's the general idea.


3.) While attacks must be made while you are visible, you can cloak their sound. Your enemy can still see you, but they can't hear your attacks. There is no time limit when it comes to silencing attacks. If you had a machine gun that fired 30,000 bullets, every single one wouldn't make a sound. However, I'd have to agree that silencing an object outside of your body would require a move. You could silence a ki blast created by your own energy, but to silence a weapon that is independent of your physical or spiritual being would require a Custom Tech. So if you wanted to silence a gun, you'd make a Custom Tech for it.
